Thank you for your support! It was humbling to be the top vote receiver among all city offices - but it was only because of your support!
We must continue to "Stand-up for our Schools"! As I said throughout the campaign, "we can't have a great city without a great school system". Now it is time to get back to work on building a better school system....
All the best!
I was very pleased to see The Advocate endorsement.
I know people have asked me what they could do to help. If you would just take 2 minutes and "Invite" your Stamford-based Facebook Friends to "Like" my page, that would be tremendous (and much appreciated!)....
Thanks again for all your support!
ok, Folks - it's 3 weeks from Election Day...... I need your help in order to have the opportunity to be re-elected.
Stamford Friends, If you are willing to have a sign on your lawn for the next 3 weeks, that is very helpful. I know it is a pain but it really does help. It's tells your friends and neighbors that you support me and that (studies have shown) makes an enormous difference. It's a personal endorsement.
As does your Facebook Likes (and "Re-liking")! ...So, if you know anyone in Stamford please help "spread the word"!!!!
Just send me a message to FB (or email email@example.com) and we will get a sign up.
Congratulations Gary Klein! Now we have the last four new members to join the BOE as parents of students in the system! A substantial improvement of where we were just a few years ago!
The people of Stamford have sent a message two years in a row now by electing Gary and myself as political newcomers into office (getting the highest vote counts of not only the BOE race but of any local race). Now that is validation!
Into the final stretch of the campaign. I decided to end my public campaigning at Stamford High School this afternoon. SHS is near and dear to me and it is where I ended my public school experience (a few years ago). It was great seeing former teachers and coaches. I hope to be "back in the public schools" helping to support them!
Heading into the final lap for the election. If anyone has time to work the poll (handing out literature), please let me know what times you could. the busiest polling times are 6am - 10am and 4pm - 8pm. We are also able to pay $10 an hour for those that could use the money if they can cover a full shift for us. Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help. Best!
Great article in The Stamford Times on the BOE race. My message is getting out there as I was quoted "My goal is to get the parents' voices heard". We must continue to communicate that we want "Excellence for All Children" - that we want to challenge & support ALL children.
While I'll be observing the BOE meeting tonight, there is a fundraiser for Richard Blumenthal taking place in Stamford. See the link for more information.
Read the Stamford Advocate's endorsement of Geoff here! Great job Geoff!
Geoff, your hard work has paid off. The Stamford Advocate has endorse you! Great Job. Get ou and vote for Geoff. Spread the word people!
Great Article by a concerned parent on the issues Geoff has raised. Read it here.
Just finished 2 nights in a row of Candidate Forums - at Roxbury School and the North Stamford Association. I know my message is resonating because a few of the other candidates are "borrowing" my lines and then attributing them back to me - thanks John Leydon and Carmine Limone! It allows me to get more info out there.
Went to the Fairfield County Sports Nights last night were local amateur and professional athletes from the area were honored. This year, Gary Cobb, a former professional football player (11 year NFL) and Stamford High graduate was honored. My dad coached him and Gary was so gracious to honor my father in his speech. Gary is a model of success - academically as well!
Today's debate went well. I was able to have more time to lay out the case that we need to make common sense changes to Middle School Reform (using the analogy "use a scalpel and not a hammer") since those in favor of leaving as is want everyone thinking we are "Anti-reform". Message of getting our parents and teachers voices heard is starting to get traction! Next forum is Roxbury School Tuesday night 7:15pm.
