Wade Sundell is now 4th in the world standings! When you're hot, you're HOT! It'll be a blast watching him at the Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo as well as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas! Way to go, Wade!
Wade Sundell set an arena record earlier this week in saddle bronc riding in Waco, TX, and tied the record on Saturday. He scored an 89-point ride on Gold Buckle Rodeo’s Special Time. He was ranked 12th prior to the Heartland ProRodeo Championships and will obviously be higher in the standings prior to going to his first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Way to go, Wade!
Wade Sundell pays tribute to late grandfather with DNCFR saddle bronc victory.
Saddle bronc rider Wade Sundell claimed a national title just five days after his grandfather, Cloyd Sundell, Jr., passed away. The 24 year old cowboy waved his cowboy hat while on the winning ride in tribute to his grandfather at the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo A...pril 11 in Pocatello, Idaho.
At his grandfather’s funeral, April 10th in Boxholm, Iowa, Wade made a pledge to his family and friends that if he made it to the final round of the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo he would do something to recognize a man who was always there for him.
With a heavy heart, he did a lot more than just make it to the final round. He won the competition with an 87-point ride on Flying Five Rodeo’s Spring Blues on April 11th.
It was the biggest title of his career and came with the biggest paycheck of his life ($15,088), the use of a Dodge Ram truck for a year, a Montana Silversmiths buckle and a Justin Boots gift certificate for a pair of exotic boots. Not to mention some very serious bragging rights.

Reminder to book rooms early:
As you may already know, the Dodge Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo will take place November 13, 14, 15, 2008 in Louisville, KY. The normally sold out Executive West Hotel has been the host hotel for the cowboys, rodeo queens, officials and stock contractors for several years. The Great... Lakes Circuit has selected the Comfort Inn & Suites (formerly the Ashton Inn & Suites Best Western) as this year’s host hotel. The hotel is still on Philips Lane, just down the street from the Executive West. This is good news for fans because there are now rooms available right across the street from the arena.
GreatLakesProRodeo.com is proud to announce that we have blocked some rooms at the Executive West for the Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo. The telephone number for reservations is 1-800-626-2708. The room rate is $115 per night (plus tax). Be sure to mention GreatLakesProRodeo.com to get that rate. Now that might seem like a high price to pay what with the high price of gas nowadays, but you can’t beat being right across the street from the arena.
As of July 18th, there were 20 rooms still available at the group rate. Make sure to book early and to specify GreatLakesProRodeo.com or you’ll be paying a lot more than $115 per night – if you can even get a room at the Executive West. See you in November!

Willie Nelson’s song accompanies this trip down memory lane. Most of you probably don’t remember watching these actors as children but for those of us that do, it’s a great glance back at the greats. Watch the video at http://www.greatdanepro.com/
