Some of the awe inspiring #bird life of #Lake #Kerkini, seen by boat, in #north #Greece. The drowned forest (under water for part of the year) provides a great safe home & nesting site for countless Cormorants, Herons, Spoonbills etc. The sight is incredible and the sound of thousands of birds all around you is amazing! You can enjoy this wonderful experience, with us in May or June, on our holidays there with and in support of Birdwing eu http://www.greenwings.co/page/bird-holidays-4369

My third Greenwings trip was again hugely enjoyable. Our expert guides David and Nick were joined by the amazing illustrator Richard Lewington and all three paid great attention to ensuring that member...s of the group obtained the maximum benefit from their trip. The sites researched by Greenwings in the stunning French Alps at altitudes up to 2800M allowed us to find 120 different species, many of which were present this year in very large numbers. Our evenings were also full of identification guidance, logging the day's sightings, and reference of course to Collins Butterfly Guide. Many thanks once more to all three for giving so generously of their time. A fully deserved five star rating from me, an experience not to be missed! See More

Our recent trip with Greenwings to the French Alps this July, with a group of butterfly enthusiasts and three guides: David Moore, Richard Lewington and Nick Bowles, was totally wonderful. The scenery... was stunning, the butterflies abundant and the company was full of friendly banter- what more could you ask? Can't wait for the next one! See More
