My father Robert Comes was a former Sheriff of Harford. He sadly just passed away. In our time of intense grief the Sheriff's office took over to give my father the the most honorable send off.
I can...not express the heartfelt appreciati on that my family feels to every single person in the Sheriff's office and the government of Harford county ! My father loved the Sheriff's office and the people of Harford county and it was his great honor to be of service to all !
Thank you so much ,

Shout out to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Raising a child who wants to be a police officer has definitely challenged me to open up and talk to more people as he wants to stop and say hi to eve...ry officer he sees. Officer Taylor is a name you'll hear regularly around our house since last Christmas when we stopped to see him at Walgreens and he gave Jake a stuffed Rudolf they had displayed on their table (name Officer Taylor). This year the Sheriff's Office lit up this little boys world once again for when an officer took the time to stop and get to know him and then dropped by with a Christmas present. So here's to all those officer's who take the time to stop and encourage the young minds of what will hopeful be our future Harford County Sheriff's! See More

I started watching DOPE on Netflix. Season 1 episode 2 was about Baltimore City, but had a healthy dose about Harford County in it as well. I couldn't be more proud of what Harford County is doing (&... coordinati ng with other agency's) in order to fight the war on opiates. My father is a retired Detective Sergeant of Narcotics and Homicide at Barrack D. I remember the stories from back then... Thank You for keeping up the great work! See More

For the most part, this page is informatio nal in nature and serious in tone—as it should be. But joking about “Ladies Night,” is unfortunat e. The criminal justice system should never be taken lightly ...by law enforcemen t. Please discontinu e this feature. See More

Thank you, Officer Skrzypiec (spelling? ) for your efficiency and kindness when my son and his friend were hit in their work van last week in Abingdon.. .
I pulled into the parking lot where you and th...e kids were with a racing heart in the pouring rain and thought a hundred times how grateful I was that you were there before me. It was a minor accident, but in a mom's eyes it was major to me when I got the phone call. THANK YOU. See More

HCSO is kk by me.Have i been in trouble before? Yes. But they were only doing their job when they took care of my issues. The police have a very hard job and that fact is not understood by most people.... Just like I go to work everyday and fix people's plumbing and provide a service, that is the same thing that they are doing for our neighborho ods and our safety. All of you cop haters are usually people that get in trouble all the time and have had bad experience with police officers. But as soon as you are scared to death or in a life-threa tening situation who is the first person that you want to call? That's right it's the police. Again they are only doing their job I have no problem with what they do because I understand how hard their job really is. All I can say is don't break the law and you won't have to deal with any police officers in a negative way See More

With the new Sheriff, Jeff Gahler, our Sheriffs Department has become in your face in a great way. The Sheriff himself is more available to the public than any previous Sheriff in my lifetime. We now ...know who our Sheriff is and that he is available to us and talks with us.
The Deputies are more approachab le, social, and active in the communitie s in a more friendlier way rather than just as law enforcemen t.
The department as a whole seems to be more proactive for the benefit, safety and health of our citizens. Even though my opinion on the Narcan topic is different than the Sheriffs, I certainly applaud him and his deputies for taking a very proactive and possibly the lead in the fight against the Opioid crises in our County and State. He has even taken legislativ e action in Annapolis.
Our Law Enforcemen t Officers are the, paper thin, line between total chaos and civility. We fail to show our gratitude for their dedication to serve us, total strangers in many cases. I certainly appreciate all of them, no matter which agency they are from and I will vote for Jeff Gahler for as Harford County Sheriff for as long as he continues to be the kind of Sheriff he has been for us. We don't often take the time to acknowledg e, give a shout out or simply express a sincere thank you to others that deserve it and I wanted to make sure that I did it today!!!
Last night, my daughter g...ot a flat tire driving home. She was pulled over by two police officers, Deputy T. Fries and Deputy Basilone, who encouraged her not to drive her moms car home with a flat. They proceeded to help her by offering to change the tire. This is where the tricky part come in!:) As I arrived, I noticed a bit of a struggle with trying to unlock the metal covering to get to the spare tire. We had several deputies try, a variety of tools and an amazing supervisor , Sgt. Montalvo, but the mission could not be accomplish ed. I called AAA and the officers continued to stay, keep us safe and wait with us. AAA arrived and long and behold cannot do it either without the assistance of Sgt.Montal vo and his amazing tool! Finally the tire was able to be changed and we were on our way home.
Thank you all for going further... ..
Thank you for caring for a young girl in our community. ...

Re: Harford County’s active shooter presentati on? Fine. Hide, flee, fight? How about gun control? Without a mention of that- you are only reacting. We need preventati ve proaction- not just reaction.

2017 If on June 21, 1989 Supreme Court upheld the rights of protesters to burn the American flag and in 1943 ruled that one need not stand for the Pledge of Allegiance surely the right to kneel during... the Star Spangled Anthem cannot be seen as anything other than protected speech.
The problem is caused by an elected official who cannot keep his stupid, race baiting, woman hating, greedy, undiscipli ned mouth shut.
What really disrespect s our flag is carrying the flag of traitors and our enemies. See More

Deprivatio n of rights under color of law. You're department violated the rights and trust of it's citizens. How many cars were illegally searched to turn up 61 unlocked cars? The citizens of Harford n...eed to demand body cam footage, officers names and the name of the officer in command that violated the Constituti onal rights of every one of the car owners. Every single one of the officers needs to be held accountabl e for acting like bullies with badges. Did your department skip taking an oath to the Constituti on?? Just following orders didn't work for the Nazi's and it won't work for the police. THIS is one reason why people have no faith in the police. Your badge does not grant extra powers to circumvent the 4th amendment. See More

It’s only March, yet we’ve already reached 100 suspected heroin related overdoses. Of those 100, 23 individuals lost their lives. This epidemic hasn’t eased its grip on our community, but we are doing everything we can to find and lock up those dealing death in our community and spread the word on how dangerous heroin is and what parents can do to help keep their children away from addiction. #Hope4Harford

Last weekend, the Harford County Sheriff's Office Explorer's Post 6600 hosted a regional training at Harford Glen. More than 70 Explorers from Virginia and Maryland attended the training in preparation for the 2018 Law Enforcement Exploring National Conference which is at the University of Purdue in July.
