This will be my daughters last year at Winkler. The teachers and staff are great, and really seem to care about the students. It's really a great school.

CONCORD- A message of love was recently spread at Winkler Middle School.

We are very proud of our students and teachers during Start with Hello Week!

On Wednesday, Feb. 7th, Winkler Middle School’s student body gathered in the gymnasium to learn about combating social isolation. Start with Hello, a program un...der the Sandy Hook Promise organization and the SAVE Club (Students Against Violence Everywhere), aims to teach youth the skills they need to reach out to and include those who may be dealing with chronic social isolation and create a culture of inclusion and connectedness. Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely or treated like you are invisible. Young people who feel this way may pull away from society, struggle with learning and social development or choose to hurt themselves or others.

Students heard from peers, administrators, and those who have been affected by social isolation. The school-wide assembly was a part of Start with Hello Week. Students and staff took part in various activities this week designed to raise awareness about the growing epidemic of social isolation in schools and communities 💚

It’s Start With Hello Week! Today our SAVE Promise club put a positive note on every students’ locker and we will ask them to pass it along to someone they don’t know!
