While there are kids selling their bodies for drugs and junkies injecting and freebasing in Memorial Park, these fools are out and about harassing tax payers who are walking their dogs peacefully. waste of tax dollars. Never mind the coyote, mountain lion, black tail deer, Turkey's, owls, hawks and eagles....domesticated dogs in the presence of their owners is a threat?! There is trash and drug paraphernalia scattered all about your parks and you're messing with the taxpayers that pay your wages?. If I were the elected official in charge of this department, I would be very concerned about the chances of being reelected. You have a big Target on your back now. See More

I'm thankful to have HARD and the parks. I live in San Lorenzo and from what I've seen of our new park it's going to be a great improvement. Plans for Kennedy park look great, too.

Disappointed that the San Lorenzo Park is incomplete. When is the park going to be open to the Public? I would like to walk there again! I would rather not climb over a cyclone fence to do so.
Als...o, an attempt was made in the dog park area by putting 5 gallon buckets out for water for the dogs. The problem is is that the water is quickly contaminated and unless the water is changed regularly it is not fit for consumption. See More

Getting a park violation/notice to appear in court for being in the park '12 minutes before sunrise' - according to officer Oakley, I believe... OMG, WOW it's daylight...

I contacted Noel Munivez in regard to the use of a gym. Our Special Olympics basketball team was chosen to represent Northern California in the 2014 USA National Special Olympics Games this summer in... New Jersey. A once in a lifetime opportunity.
We were desperate because we could not secure an indoor facility. I contacted Noel and within less than a week he made it happen. And not only did he accommodate our athletes, the facility was donated so that the parents would not have to incur the extra epense.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to HARD and Noel for your kindness and supporting our athletes.
We will let you know how we do in New Jersey!

Not very well run. I attempted to file a formal complaint against an abusive employee at Greenridge Park. I have been dealing with Clarence Dobbs since June 21, 2016 regarding this incident. He pre...tended to be concerned initially, and told my husband and I that HARD would let us know the results of their investigation. I had heard nothing, and on August 1st asked him for a status. On August 2nd he replied indicating that he was in training and would call me the next day. Of course he did not get in touch with me so I followed-up with him again on August 11th. The response I got was that procedure was followed . . . that was it. I responded saying that I didn't know what that meant, and how disappointing it was that Mr. Dobbs did not do what he said he would. I received a nasty email back that was a single run on sentence with poor grammar and no punctuation telling me that I have a bad attitude, it is a private matter, and that he is sorry I am so negative. This is way beyond unprofessional. Apparently HARD acknowledges and supports employees who are aggressive towards women. I seriously doubt that Mr. Dobbs would have spoken to a man as he did to me. I plan on putting together all of my communications with HARD on this issue, and escalating it to his superiors and the Board of Directors. It is NOT OKAY for HARD employees to be rude and abusive to the public. My husband and I are discussing what our options are regarding taking legal action, but I definitely plan to post everything on Facebook, Yelp, and any other social media site I can think of, in addition to pursuing it up the chain of command with HARD. Parks are well taken care of, but not all parks have restrooms.

Thank you to all the supporters and donors that made the 20th anniversary of Flight to Freedom a resounding success. The two Great-horned owls flew off beautifully, the music was amazing, the food was delicious and the silent auction was great. We are truly in debt to all our supporters. #HaywardRec
Sorensdale has established a beautiful butterfly garden featuring milkweed, which is the host plant for the Monarch butterfly. Watch the Monarch emerge from its chrysalis as a butterfly! #HaywardRec
