Very nice lil farm. The people at the farm are very friendly. I'm glade I found a place that grows most of their own produce using organic fertilizer. You can also bring your children to see the farm ...animals just for a little outting.
This farm has been running since the 1800s I'm told. It's in vicinity where I live?

Incredibly kind people. Beautiful farm and even more beautiful produce. They make getting farm fresh food to your table so much easier with their CSA program. So glad I discovered them!

I am so thankful for Highland Orchards! To be able to purchase 'real food' just two miles from my house --- farm fresh chemical free fruits and vegetables, honey, eggs, and more. Thank you, thank you,... for all at Highland Orchards who make this possible! See More

I have been extremely happy with my every other week small crop share! Every other week is the perfect amount for me and I really enjoy that it runs through the winter and doesn't involve a commitment... (though I have been doing it for months now). Couldn't be happier! Looking forward to future pick ups See More

We've loved our small bi-weekly CSA share (perfect for 2!), and even though it's possible to get the delivery closer to my house, I've kept visiting the farm market because they have an amazing assort...ment of additional produce and goodies. (A recent find: "Cool Beans" Hummus flavored with Old Bay = this Marylander thought she died and went to heaven). Everyone is always friendly, the produce is always delicious, and prices are very reasonable. Another great benefit of the CSA is that they offer short terms, so rather than committing to the entire season, you can test it out. We've just kept renewing, though :) See More

I picked up my first share of veggies yesterday and today made a beautiful and delicious salad. Everything is better when it's fresh. I'm really going to enjoy the changing fruits and vegetables as th...e summer goes by. I'm glad I joined the CSA, and I'm finding out about the new ways to prepare the foods. Thanks to Jeff Johns and Marie Coleman for sharing this information with me. See More

The only place to go for locally grown farm fresh produce! They also have a wide selection of organic, gluten free...and oh the homemade apple cider donuts alone are worth the trip! Yumm! We are f...requent visitors! See More

Freshest best-tasting eggs! The honey crisp apples are wonderful, and the apple cider donuts are fresh & warm. I am so grateful for this "farm stand"; reasonable prices & great staff too!

I love Highland Orchards, too, and especially love visiting the chickens each time I stop by. The girls and I cluck-cluck a bit before I go in. Brings back memories of my grandfather's chickens when I... was a child. Please keep doing what you do...we need you in this insane world. See More

I love it here. There is a tremendous sense of right in supporting local agriculture. You are not left wondering where your produce came from and what happened to it along the way. The csas are a grea...t value and the items in them have all been delicious! See More

I can't get over how fabulous the csa shares are! And what a time saver. I just stopped in after work, picked up my share and headed home-it's like having a personal shopper for groceries!

Fresh produce
One of the nice things about greenhouses, is you can still get work done when it’s snowing. At 50 degrees, it’s very comfortable. Here we’re planting beefsteak tomatoes amongst the lettuce. In the area to the right, we just put a layer down of compost and will put in cherry tomatoes there - one of which is called Chocolate Sprinkles!
Getting ready to plant basil
The water needed a little extra handling this morning

This week's small shares have spinach, asparagus, small red potatoes, scallions, spring mix, broccoli, thyme, and Mutsu and Empire apples. Large shares include the above items, plus celery root, garlic, red leaf lettuce, and either sorrel or parsley. Fruit Only share goodies are rhubarb, and Cameo and Mutsu apples. Enjoy!

A springtime twist on apples.

A nice change from a tomato-based salsa. Sounds refreshing! *Prep time does not include 30 minute refrigeration time.
