So excited for our neighborhood!
Hi All - Just wanted to let you know that our neighbor Jud raised over $3,000 overall at his Lemons for Leukemia stand. Many people from the neighborhood came by on the last day.
Today is the day! Lemons for Leukemia will be setting up shop for the last time tonight at 6:00 pm. Jud is about $350 off of his goal of $2,500. Tommorow is his birthday - let's pull together and make it a day he will never forget. 16th Ave NE & Beach.

Have you noticed the lemonade stand at the corner of Beach and 16th Ave NE? I stopped by last night and it was a great way to beat the heat and do some good at the same time. Here's the story repeated from above:
Jud Cummings is the leading contender for the best "what did you do on your summer vacation" story. The 7-year-old set up his own lemonade stand at 16th Avenue NE and Beach Drive in St Petersburg to raise money to help a classmate whose mother, Sarah Adams, was ...diagnosed with leukemia. His parents, Dax and Stacy Cummings, watch as Jud waves and hawks his lemonade. "He came up with it all by himself," said his mother Stacy. "He said he wanted to raise some money, and he thought that a lemonade stand would be a good idea". In just 2 1/2 weeks, Jud raised $900 of his original $1,000 goal. Now he's shooting for $2,000. Word of mouth is helping, and his stand has its own Facebook page (search for Lemons for Leukemia). Donations to his classmates mom can be made to the Sarah's Strength Fund (clfinc.org/web/28/supportsarah.asp) or just stop by Jud's stand for a lemonade from 6 to 7 pm daily.
Let's help Jud reach his goal. Only two weeks left!
The Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association (HONNA) is a civic organization that promotes the well-being of St. Petersburg's Old Northeast neighborbood, which exists just north of the downtown area.
This facebook page was not created by and is not supported by HONNA, but you may want to check it out at www.honna.org.
Did you know that a new sundial has been proposed for the north end of the waterfront park? More details, and an opportunity make a donation to make this possible are available at the HONNA web site:
This organization is pre-registering volunteers for beach clean-up. http://www.keeppinellasbeautiful.org/…/oil_spill_2…/main.asp
What an amazing sunset tonight. I love being able to ride my bike along Coffee Pot Bayou as the birds make their way to Bird Island for the night.
If you're new to the area and interested in getting out with other women and exploring what St. Petersburg has to offer, join this meetup group: http://www.meetup.com/Meet-St-Pete/ If you're an old timer, maybe you can help us find our way around a bit.
