Green has led efforts to raise over $250M from leading investors and has invested in more than 40 early-stage companies. Forerunner Ventures is the only VC firm to invest in both Dollar Shave Club and Jet.com, two of the biggest and... highest-profile e-commerce exits in recent years, and counts Birchbox, Bonobos, Glossier, Hotel Tonight, Warby Parker and Zola among its portfolio companies.
Green has been honored in Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World 2017, named VC of the Year at TechCrunch’s 2017 Crunchies Awards, and is part of Forbes 2017 Midas List in addition to being named in the magazine’s roundup of “Top Women Investors in VC.”

Entrepreneurs share their stories in a number of formats, including in a 3-minute pitch competition, in an invited talk, or even in the daily collaborative decisions made with investors, co-founders, employees, and/or users. How can we tell our story in a way that takes into account these different formats & venues?
Associate Professor of Communication, Rebecca Gill, Ph.D, shares her thoughts below.
What is your mission as an entrepreneur?
Jack Benson, Partner at Reingold shared these insightful takeaways with our #WakeEntrepreneurs last night:
🎩 Play the long game, think expansively about entrepreneurship....
🎩 Build skills and experiences that create options.
🎩 Get some operational experience.
🎩 Know your business, how it works and why it works --- then set about making it better.
🎩 Bring solutions, not just problems.
🎩 Be curious.
🎩 Fail. (Don't be afraid to fail)
Thank you Jack for taking the time to share your knowledge, wisdom and entrepreneurial experiences with us at Wake Forest University!

Tonight, we welcome Jack Benson, partner at Reingold, Inc., a communications and marketing firm in Alexandria, Virginia.
Jack has been leading and advising federal agencies, nonprofits, and private companies on strategic planning, marketing and
communications, and operational issues for more than 25 years.
At Reingold, he guides market research, strategy, social media, interactive, and digital marketing. He serves as Reingold’s lead strategist and project director for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs campaigns to prevent veteran suicide and overcome the stigma that some veterans associate with mental health challenges and help-seeking.
Initially, our knee jerk reaction is to think that artists and entrepreneurs are completely different and complete opposites. But as you begin to examine the characteristics, traits and mindsets of both, you will soon find that they are more alike than different.
