this conceptual design incorporates a removable fabric roof. In the event of an imminent hurricane, the roof is removed, alleviating the windage of such a large surface. The remaining structure present a minimal profile and is thus more resistant to the strong winds----conceptually. Hooch 2.0

The sunset Hooch-still stands after bei flattered by Maria's winds approaching 200mph. Lost some walls, the cupola, but still stands proud. It was battered, twisted, stretched, bent, shaken and stirred, but the cables to nearby trees held. For a structure with a floating foundation smaller than a back porch, and a height of 26', that is amazing. Just amazing!

The Buddha hooch- post Maria. I think much may be salvageable, and replacement bamboo poles are plentiful on the land. Still, much work to be done. We will rise again!

Just a heads up. I did not see this coming. Tropical Treehouse, a beacon of self sufficiency and solar energy, just took another hit after the storm. All three solar panels salvaged from the wreckage of the buddha hooch- were stolen!

to all those who have experienced the tropical treehouse, it is not as it was. So, I would like all those who managed to preserve their experience in pictures and videos, please post them under #tropicaltreehouse in Instagram. Thanks, ....Jo
