On 13 June, nine members of the National Council of the Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching (AJET), a volunteer organisation that represents current JET Programme participants, met with representatives from CLAIR and the three Japanese ministries associated with the JET Programme (the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Education, Culture , Sports, Science and Technology) to exchange opinions about the ...administration of the JET Programme and the support of JET Programme participants.
Topics of discussion included the cooperation between AJET and CLAIR on projects related to the 30th Anniversary of the JET Programme, support for incoming JETs in adjusting to life in Japan, consideration for various special interest groups among JET Programme participants, the effective utilization of JET Programme participants, and strategies to increase the number of SEAs in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We thank National AJET and the three ministries for the fruitful discussions.

JET参加者の支援拡充やJETプログラムの更なる発展のため、去る６月１３日（月）に現役JET参加者を代表する自主的団体である全国AJET役員会と関係省庁（総務省、外務省、文部科学省）、CLAIRとの意見交換が行われました。
JETプログラム３０周年記念事業への協力のほか、新規JET参加者への生活サポートの方策やSIG(Special Interest Groups)からの情報提供のあり方、JET参加者の効果的な活用、２０２０東京オリンピック・パラリンピックを見据えたSEA採用の促進などについて話し合われ、実りの多い意見交換会となりました。

The winners will be announced at the JET Programme 30th Anniversary Event which will be held on Monday 7 November, 2016, and will be awarded certificates, medals, and other prizes. CLAIR sends out safety confirmation emails (ALSOK) to those placed in areas where an earthquake registered as a 5 or above on the Japanese Seismic Intensity Scale has occurred. Please respond immediately by clicking on the link provided to confirm your safety each time you receive such an email. This is an important source of information... for contracting organisations and CLAIR to confirm the safety of JET participants.

Moreover, it is likely that your contracting organisation and embassy are trying to confirm your safety through other means. Please also respond and let them know your condition as soon as possible.

Japan is a country prone to earthquakes and other natural disasters. Please take this opportunity to familiarise yourself with disaster preparedness measures and prepare emergency goods.

The annual After JET Conference for JET Programme participants finishing their term of employment on the programme was held on 3 – 4 March in Chiba, along with a career fair for participants interested in finding employment in Japan.

During the conference, over 400 JET Programme participants from all 47 prefectures in Japan met with JET Programme alumni and business professionals from a variety of fields and participated in career field workshops, lectures, panel discussions,... and one-on-one consultation sessions over the two days.

Following the conference, the JET Programme Career Fair (Greater Tokyo) was held at the same venue. 53 organisations, including businesses, universities, an embassy, and a law office, attended the career fair to offer JET Programme participants jobs or career building opportunities.

JET Programme participants who were not able to attend the conference may find many of the handouts and presentations from this year’s conference, as well as past conferences, on the JET Programme website.

3月3・4日に千葉市において、今年JETプログラムを終了するJET参加者を対象に、終了前研修及びJETプログラムキャリアフェア(首都圏)が開催されました。

今年年の研修では、全国から400人以上のJET参加者が千葉に集まり、様々な分野で活躍する元JET参加者や専門家と交流することができ、また、分科会をはじめ、講演、パネルディスカッション、個別キャリア相談などに参加しました。

研修会終了後、同会場にてJETプログラムキャリアフェア(首都圏)が開催され、引き続き日本で就職を希望するJET参加者が、グローバル人材を求める53の企業・大使館・大学・法律事務所等の人事関係者と出会う機会となりました。

終了前研修に参加できなかったJET参加者に関しては、JETプログラムのホームページから研修で配布された資料など（英語のみ）をダウンロードすることができますので、ぜひご参照ください。

The theme of our video contest is “Japan’s Local Communities as experienced by JET Programme Participants.” The submitted videos will be uploaded to the contest’s website and YouTube account, and the winne...rs will be announced at the JET Programme 30th Anniversary Event which will be held in Autumn 2016. Certificates, medals, and other prizes will be awarded to the winners.

There is no limit to the number of videos you can submit, so feel free to send us any of footage of your town that you would like to share.

On 11 February, 2016, the first JET Programme Career Fair of the year was held at the Fukuoka Fashion Building in Fukuoka City.

75 JET Participants and 19 companies and organisations, many from the Kyushu Region, were in attendance. In addition to the briefing sessions and interviews held by the companies present, participants also partook in seminars on job-hunting in Japan and made use of mock-interview and consultation services from professionals and JET alumni.

CLAIR p...lans to host two more JET Programme Career Fairs, one in the Greater Tokyo region on 4 March and another in Osaka on 25 April. Registration for companies interested in hiring JET participants and JET alumni at the Osaka career fair may inquire with the administrative office about obtaining a booth until 7 March, 2016. (Registration for JET Programme participants has been closed due to limited space.)

2016年2月11日(木・祝)に福岡で、今年初となるJETプログラムキャリアフェアが開催されました。

主に九州から来た75名のＪＥＴ参加者と、19の企業等が参加し、説明会や個人面接の他、日本での就職活動に関する講座や模擬面接などが行われました。元ＪＥＴ参加者が後輩にアドバイスをする相談コーナーも設けられ、会場全体が賑わっていました。

次回のキャリアフェアは3月4日（金）に首都圏で開催されます。

4月25日（月）に開催される「ＪＥＴプログラムキャリアフェアin大阪」については、まだ出展企業を募集しております。ＪＥＴ参加者もしくは元ＪＥＴ参加者の採用に興味をお持ちの企業担当者の方は3月7日までに運営事務局へお問い合わせください。（ＪＥＴ参加者については、満員になったため、申込み受付を終了しました）

JETプログラムキャリアフェアin福岡：出展企業リスト本日より公開！

The website for JET Programme Career Fair to be held on 11 February, 2016 in Fukuoka is now online. On the website, you will find a schedule of the day’s activities and a list of the companies participating in the career fair.

Attendees will use a “Personal Information Form” to introduce themselves to companies at the fair. Copies will be available the day of the fair, but we recommend that attendees download and fill out the template from this website and print out copies beforehand. Some companies will even accept Personal Information Forms by email in advance. Please check the list of participating companies for more information.

Information regarding the career fair in Chiba held in conjunction with the After JET Conference will be posted at the beginning of next month.
