Dear members of the public, Jamie's Italian Restaurant in Bluewater, Kent on Saturday 7th of April at 7.30 pm, My son and I had an excellent meal of lasagne and Flash Steak with broccoli and polenta ...chips, followed by delicious dessert of Jamie's favourite Blueberry and olive cake and Chocolate Melt with ice cream. The service was excellent, down to earth very caring and very professional. staff. We had a pleasant experience and enjoyed our "out of this world" meal. Give the organisation feedback and an opportunity to rectify any mistakes that can happen and we all make them but we learn from them to improve the service and enable the business to grow. We had great expectations of Jamies Italian in Birmingham, after being invited to go there for our friends daughter's 18th, but what we ended up having was a nightmare experience from start to finish.... First impressions of the place were good, nice atmosphere. It all went horribly wrong after being seated though. At seven on a saturday night we were told they hadn't any beer on draught, then I went to order a mixed grill, the only thing on the menu I fancied, but was told they had ran out. My wife ordered a lemonade and when they bought it out I burst out laughing! It was like something from the mini bar! I wasn't laughing though when she told me the cost, £2.65! Daylight robbery. I ordered the meatball meal, large, and I'm not kidding when I say I've had better ready meals. The meat balls were ok, but the pasta was hard and chewy, and didn't taste fresh, more like it had been warmed up. When ordering the food I remember our friend having a lengthy conversion with the waitress about asking if she could have fries instead of the ones which came with the meal, for her young son? The waitress said she could do that, however, when the other waitress bought the meals out there was no sign of his meal. Our friend called the other waitress over who took the order, and she denied all knowledge of the conversation about the fries. The waitress who had bought the meals out was foreign, and not being disrespectful, but her english wasn't the best. She was shouting the orders out, but no one could understand what she was saying, so they were literally having to stand to see what was on the plates. I had to take my young son to the toilet. When I walked in it was bitterly cold and the general cleanliness left alot to be desired. When I go in a place to eat I usually check out the state of the toilets before ordering. I wish I had done so in Jamies, but you don't expect it with his name above the door. I wouldn't recommend Jamies Italian to anyone, and would say to the man himself, that his restaurant needs kicking into touch. Another great chef, Gordon Ramsey would of had a field day if he'd of visited that night. I doubt that Jamie Oliver himself being there could of salvaged our very dire experience. See More

First class food and service in the most beautiful surroundings. The Edinburgh restaurant is an all-round worthwhile experience from the minute you go in, right up to the minute you leave. The staff friendly and helpful, and, being a regular customer who is trying to eat her way through the whole menu (over time), I am in a good position to judge the over-all deliciousness of the food I have so far had the pleasure of consuming. Visited the Birmingham branch earlier this evening & the food was good but the low rating is down to how, as a wheelchair user, I felt very let down. I didn’t appreciate the disabled toilet being tuck...ed away in a very dark, unlit, hidden corner of the restaurant with all the spare chairs & a table. I was told to wait as someone might be in there, only for them to open it for me after waiting at least 5 minutes & it was empty. I doubt your toilets upstairs are in a dark, dingy corner so why should the disabled toilet be any different??? See More

I would rate Jamie's Italian between good and very good... it depends on where you are. This is a "chain" and you are always going to find great, good and lousy examples - just depends on luck and lo...cation.

Cardiff is our most recent goto and we've nearly always left satisfied with the experience. Costly, but when we were out to celebrate an occasion we liked going there.

However, what did we find at the Canary Wharf location? The manager comped the entire evening meal, all courses and beverages - it was that poor in service, food and overall experience.

So, if you read bad things about Jamie's it's not always about the company overall - find out where the reviews come from and take that into account before booking a table.

We had a meal at Jamie Oliver's Italian Restaurant on Thursday 28th December, We had booked a table for seven, it was a special family occasion. First let me say the staff greeted us and made us feel ...welcome, everyone was friendly and polite to us all, It went steadily down hill from then on. We decided to order starters, unfortunately they didn't have any mushrooms for the starter we wanted, so we decided to skip starters and have a sweet after. Four of us ordered Pizzas which were served cold, they warmed them for us, but the edges were overcooked and very hard, the middle not cooked enough, and to be honest they didn't taste that good, I have had better from other restaurants, and they certainly didn't resemble any I have eaten on visits to Italy.. One of the party had ordered chicken in a sauce, the sauce was so burnt on top of the chicken she couldn't cut through it. She decided to have the same pizza one of our party had chosen, that wasn’t very warm either but she felt so sorry for our poor waitress, she let it go.. Someone else ordered a steak which was also served cold, they replaced it for him, it was also supposed to be served with mushrooms, they had been forgotten. Three people had ordered chips with their meals, they didn’t serve these till everyone had finished their meals. Again I have to say the staff were lovely, very apologetic, and very polite, after all it wasn’t their fault, they don’t cook the food, and it wasn’t their fault it was so bad, and wasn’t available to serve to everyone at the same time, or even in some cases only half the meal at a time.. There were only seven of us after all, not a big party . The day before, ten of us went out for a meal, we all had starters, and mains, and most of us had a sweet, we didn’t order the same meals, yet everything was served perfectly cooked, hot, and we were all served together. I wish to pass a complaint
I wanted to quickly eat a Jamie pasta at Nice Airport before taking off on my business trip to Paris. However I was told there was no place in the restaurant, whilst a the 4 spots were free. I had to wait 25 min. or,I was told , I had made a reservation. Really, at an airport? On top of that, the waitress was very impolite. I am very disappointed and offended by the waitress’ behaviour. I went to your Manchester branch. The venue is beautiful; however, I knew we were off to a bad start when the maitre d didn't even take me to my table. My starter had a hair in it and to top it off af...ter two courses over half the table were still extremely hungry. The food was okay, but not filling and overpriced. I will not be going again. Fab second time experience at the St Albans branch yesterday. From initial seating to payment it was a good experience. Food was lovely and the general vibe is good too. Waitress was very attentive an...d getting more money off vouchers at the end was fab. We have a gold card and at the moment Monday to Thursday you can get 40% off your main dish! We had a little taster of their fab buffalo Mozarella dish too.
We found it a little expensive thus the 4* not 5* but hat is our only criticism
If you go in the week as we did last time I think they still do the set menu which was great value for money and is still good :)

Shocking - blue water
Waited 20 mins no problem
The told no pizza dough ...
Sat at table you had to keep foot on then ordered starters no bread
Order main meal - no complaints meal was lovely
Waited waited waited - gave up and went and asked for a desert menu
Ordered desert and coffee - coffee came first then desert !!!
Hot brownie - cold and frozen in middle
No salt in grinder all round terrible service
Won't be going to this one again !!

Our children were performing at Sadlers Wells Theatre on Easter Sunday and we stumbled on Jaimie's in Islington planning to spend a few hours for food and drink for 7 of us. When we got there there wa...s a lovely group of ladies being turned away as they hadn't booked just like us. Given it was 4.30 in the afternoon and there were at least 12 tables empty I couldn't see the problem. That was 13 customers lost in the space of five minutes. Shocking customer service! 😡😡 See More

I wish to bring to your attention what an awful experience we had on Saturday in Harrogate!...

I never seen service like this! You simply couldn’t cope with a large booking – good luck to you over the festive period as things are only going to get worse!!

The problem with the starters they were not liked by a lot of the younger members of the team / I am not commenting on the food – I personally though it was lovely – I had been to Harrogate Jamie’s previously hence the booking –I was warned of this poor service in the Harrogate branch the weekend prior!

If the waitress had been over, she would of known that, she just presumed we were taking our time eating the starters – I think, I don’t know this for sure as all she could say was 23 minutes for main

Drinks were so slow, it was a matter of ordering the next one, when the last one showed up (2 in the 2 hours we were there)

My colleague complained and you did clear the starters after an hour – and I was told several times it was 23 minutes till the main arrived / We were told whilst booking we had to be out by 9pm – because of this we booked somewhere else at 9pm – there was no rush to from you to get us out!!

I was really upset and went to speak to the manager, this obviously didn't do anything because after this point the gravy arrived after we had eaten, I was told it needs cooking – it simply shouldn’t of been offered it was going to take so long

Some of the team were so fed up they didn’t have their puddings – others never arrived

The manager did knock the drinks off the bill – but after looking at the receipt on Sunday the icing on the cake was the 12.5 service charge!!!

I showed another manager what I had tweeted and she simply walked away while I was talking to her!

Jamie's Italian gatwick north sold us the worst sandwiches we've ever eaten. Dry bread. Eggs doused in vinegar tasting mayonnaise. So called cress which was past its best by date. Sandwich ended up in... the bin. The Cajun chicken avocado was not Cajun and possibly not even chicken (some disgusting kind of paste). Shame it was a takeaway or I would have asked for my money back. Will give this franchise a wide berth in future. Take note!! See More

My husband and I decided to go jaimes in Leeds as we have heard mixed reviews and wanted to see for ourselves, first the drinks are extremely expensive £14 something for two drinks which being for Yor...kshire is expensive! We had garlic bread to start which was nice, then my husband had a burger and I had a steak and chips, he said his burger was ok but nowt flash and my steak was ok but I had fries with them and they were awful, they were obviously over cooked and very crispy so not much potato in them!! Also I don’t call a whole gem lettuce cut in half with a bit of dressing on a side salad, the sauce that came with it was pleasant but to be honest for the price it was terrible, I live near the Wensleydale heifer in West Witton, Wensleydale and there steaks are second to none and only £3 more than jaimes! The next day we went into a Bella Italian and my husband had fries with his meal and they were lovely and they half the price, I definitely will never eat in one of your restaurants again it’s not worth the money! Hey Jamie, please send your cooks on the Vienna airport for schooling. A request for COOKING the granola is "not possible" for them. Putting the granola in a pot of hot water and waiting five minutes...... is... "not possible". for the cooks at a Jamie Oliver restaurant... Went to the Piccadilly restaurant last night and we were so disappointed! After a 45 minute wait for a table my partner’s burger was chewy and full of gristle! Also my friends both had the sausage rav...ioli which consisted of 5 pieces of pasta per portion!! Which is disgusting when you are charging £13 for it! They left hungry and went to McDonald’s! The apology we got from the manager felt half hearted and we were basically just told that’s the way it’s served! The only thing I can compliment is the cocktails!

The food is extremely overpriced for what it is, and the portion sizes are tiny, sorry but we won’t be going back... �

I have eaten at Jamie’s in Cheltenham before but, yesterday met a group of friends in Birmingham. After some discussion we opted for Jamie’s for lunch. Firstly, to say the staff were all very friendly... and accommodating and ambience was great. We ended up having a rather long lunch and didn’t feel like we were under any pressure to move on once we had eaten- brilliant. However, the food was really disappointing. I now need both gluten and lactose free and never find this a great problem at other similarly priced high street chains (ie zizzi, pizza express, carluchios, coal). However, Jamie’s do not offer an exact menu and relies on the knowledge and advice of the server. It’s completely overwhelming and I lost interest part way through as it took forever. I had a plank which I wasn’t warned came therefore, without bread, followed by king prawn linguine (which was actually poorly cooked tasteless penne). Really? When there is so many other chains doing so much better with food intolerances, and producing fabulous food I won’t be bothering again. Jamie, you have let me down! X See More

where do I start my wife had her Christmas do here and two of them have now been sick for 5 days. The lack of response from emails is socking food poising is something you wouldn’t expect from the kebab van!!

I haven’t yet had this free visit d...ue to being on the Isle of Wight and cost of ferries etc but now I have learned that the Portsmouth branch have closed.
