A little morning coffee guitar from across the pond

The Soloist of Many Cakes

I am such the virtuoso soloist
Serenading stars and
Singing to my canine audience

...

I can be the farthest from a duo
Though I want this home to be
A place where
Two can be
Deep in the woods I live my life, sans wedding cake
In my little reverie

Far from ice and snow I bake
Fire in the oven
I like the heat

Sometimes I forget to eat
While singing songs I like to make
Served like a song-cake for my plate

And should the voice of reason stir debate;
“Is the topic worthy of a song?”
I’ll choose the voice that says that “You can have your cake!”,
The one that tells me life is sweetest when you slowly bake
You know, freezing weather breaks my mood

Reverie
For my cake

Love Tamed

Love tamed
Before we pass through this plane of rope and tie,
The chase and bind...
Holding the reins, my desires steeled
Raise the crop and cane
I have fought and railed
Why train wild horses?
Why give up my freedom? wait…

Somebody came, his favor
Now I avoid the mistake;
My deliberate flight over

Lay me down
Raindrops on clover
Where the Jasmine and Rose is full in bloom
Where the river runs as fast as me

My mate
Underneath this current racing by
Stronger and swifter than mine, his approach
But rooted in the spring’s mud,
I vanish
For finding reason not to be here

Where will you likely find me?
On sunny days, on dry land
Summertime feels so lazy
I like it like that
For the refuge
Of a cool breeze through willow trees
That blows from the river past
Sweet brier thorns to favor this
Rose entangled

My mate…

Carnival Road

Late September
In your big car ride
As you take me to the county fair

...

Off to the midway
Towards the carousel, run
Past the colored man in tears

Sweeping the road clean
Unfortunate code
Washing our hands clean
In segregate rows

Puppets and handlers
An American stage
For our fantasy, your pose

Madame Pamita
Saw my future and said
“One day you will be famous.”

Give me my money back!
Carnival Rose
Bring me my daddy back
Carnival Road

In the dust of limousines
ghosts of minstrels sing
fortune and artist collides
Just sing me to sleep tonight

The Sky is Tilted

Roses from sky are falling
Piece de resistance
Rally for the Freedom Fry!...
and talk independence

Eat propaganda
Feed poison sentiment

Breach internal sabotage
Caustic dependence
Lady with the torch flame crying
Vive la Resistance!

Corporation newsfeed
Eat poison sentiment
Military stocks soar
My heart bleeds

You say you want your freedom
To live divided
Human resistance to unify
But when our buildings crumble
Our cities on fire
Neighbors and strangers unify

Culture war our deep divide
Plaintiff insistence
In my prayers, “God bless the protest”
Vive la Resistance

You say you want your freedom
Of Corporate religion
Righteous conviction, lives divided
We say we want our freedom
From common convention
Call me a liberal, my heart bleeding

Roses from the sky are falling
Gift of remembrance
Power of our hearts alliance
Piece de resistance

Through The Western Gate

I don’t hear your voice
I defy you, call me out
Hiding before you find me out...
Before you find me out
Run to eden
Run to paradise
I will bleed as if a culling of angels from broken glass

in a moment in a moment
fighting this attraction
this magnetic field envelopes me, keeps me here

In a moment, In a moment
Fighting this attraction
This magnetic field envelopes me, keeps me here

At the height of the poison
The fighting on the land
We might defend by waging grace
Dulled by armor
Called to harbor
Where the heart is craft
In luminous fields
I belong to her

In a moment, In a moment
Fighting this attraction

this magnetic field envelopes me.
In a moment
I’ll redeem my fallen star
and just like a kite up in the sky
I’ll fly high up flying farther and higher
As I leave the earth,
With my dust I will leave my name

Headed for the Western gate
The Western gate
Through the western gate
In a moment…
this attraction fighting
this attraction
this magnetic field
it envelops me
and holds me close/near/dear

my….

at the height of the poison
the fighting on the land
we might defend by waging grace
don’t hold to keep me the mind,
it drafts as the body drops
this bolt of light, it dims so quick
Western gate
Western gate
Through the western gate

Friend and Poet Cecelia Woloch with a "radiophonique" version of her exquisite book 'Tsigan: The Gypsy Poem'...a journey to be shared

Here's a "radiophonique" version of Tsigan: The Gypsy Poem, in French and in English, created at a most magical atelier in Faverges, France, a few weekends ago. The audio is about 35 minutes long.
