We're just a couple weeks out from our performance as part of History Colorado's Tiny Library Concert Series. We will be playing a variety of music originally created for collaborations with the contemporary ballet company Wonderbound. We hope that you can join us in this intimate space which will no doubt highlight the emotion and complexity of the music we aspire to create. I must mention again the great cast of musicians who will be joining me: Jean-Luc Davis bass, Dean Hi...rschfield percussion, April Johannesen woodwinds, Emily Rose Lewis violin, and David Short cello.

I'll be joined by Jean-Luc Davis on bass, Dean Hirschfield on percussion, April Johannesen on woodwinds, Emily Rose Lewis on violin/vocals, and David Short on cello. Oh man! Snow- Musical Inspiration
Post 3: Tom Waits
Tom Waits has been an inspiration to so many and I count myself among them. You can hear the genius of his songwriting in the infectious melodies and lyrics that can make one both laugh and cry within minutes, while also commanding an audiences' attention with a back alley cool and quick wit. This has been a favorite of mine for a while. It's called Chocolate Jesus....
Tickets are still available, but going fast for our final week of Snow. Get your tickets here:
Snow - Musical Inspiration
Post 2: John Fahey
Mr. Fahey invented a musical genre, later to be dubbed American Primitive, which I'll describe as instrumental, fingerstyle guitar utilizing alternate tunings. His music is unique, complex, and beautiful. This one's called Red Pony. Enjoy!...
Don't forget to get your tickets for Snow. We open tomorrow:
I'm starting a short series of posts to highlight the sources of musical inspiration I drew from while creating the music for Snow, our upcoming collaboration with Wonderbound.
Post 1: R.L. Burnside. This is one of my favorites from R.L entitled Poor Black Mattie. A groove so deep, it can't be denied....
As always, please join us for Snow, December 12-14 and 19-21. Tickets here: https://wonderbound.com/shows-events/snow-2/

Hey folks, the beautiful chaos of The Underground Music Showcase (UMS) kicks off tomorrow! So much great music happening. Emily Rose Lewis and I will be at the South Broadway Christian Church on Saturday, July 29th at 5pm.

Right after our set at the UMS this Saturday (5pm at South Broadway Christian Church), Emily Rose Lewis and I will be heading up to Boulder to one of our favorite places to play and listen to music, the Cherryvale House. We will be supporting a songwriter that I've admired and been listening to for years, David Dondero. This is one of the most intimate music spaces around town, and I couldn't think of a better way to experience the tale of a songwriter. Hope to see ya!
Live at Cherryvale: David Dondero + Jesse Manley
It's been quite some time, but I'm back at The Underground Music Showcase (UMS). Emily Rose Lewis and I will be playing at the South Broadway Christian Church on Saturday, July 29th at 5pm. We will be recording this live session and shooting some video with the amazing Samuel Benjamin Pike. Come on by!
We love Anthony's music, so you better believe we will be there on Saturday to support this talented song writer! Join me for some amazing pizza, great booze, and inspiring music!
Flipped on the radio last night only to hear my name and the introduction of Bring Me Home, the first single off our new album Dust. I don't think I'll ever get used to that. Big thanks to Chris Kresge and 105.5 The Colorado Sound for the spin and supporting local music.
