At Jewel Tree we usually have a selection of vintage and Art Deco platinum diamond set eternity bands in our stock. Shown here are three rings, all c.1930, and set with small diamonds. Finger sizes ranging from L to M to M and a half.
15ct gold late Victorian heart shaped brooch, set with half pearls in cut collet settings, with a pearl and diamond set crown above. Brooches of this design were usually given as love tokens, or as wedding gifts from the groom to the bride as a symbol of his love. The staff laid into the heart no doubt to says "queen of my heart". A piece of this quality would more than likely have been a wedding gift from a wealthy groom to his bride. Good quality and condition, not to mention absolutely charming too. 31mm high, 20mm wide. The pin, visible in the image, will be concealed when pinned onto a garment when worn.
A good 9ct rose gold gate bracelet with padlock clasp. Not a wide bracelet at 10mm wide, but of a very solid and heavier than than normal gauge of metal used. Fitted with a padlock clasp and safety chain and in great condition.
A fine platinum Art Deco diamond ring, set with a center half a carat old brilliant cut diamond, with small stones mille grain set in rows of three above, below and on either sides to the center stone. The shorter pair of Corinthian candlesticks are 17cm tall and with rams heads on the four corners just above the base - see second image for details. The taller pair (25cm) are richly decorated with Acanthus leaves all over, including on the drip pans.
Plenty of more "new" stock items into the shop and images of such to follow. This is just a foretaste of what is to come! A very nice, classical pair of three light candlesticks which come together with a matching pair of single light candlesticks. The three lighters are 31cm tall, the single lighters are 14cm tall. Not to cause any confusion, the drip trays are all present in this case, and the three light arms can be swapped from the tall bases to the lower two bases, so you have an option of where, how high or low and how many candles you wish to display! Silver Sheffield plated, and giving you the option of either two, four or eight candles to display. What a pleasure!
Something Jewel Tree likes indeed is to offer our followers and clients, something unusual and very off beat: An original 1930's Art Deco ring, made of 9ct rose gold, and set with a 22mm cabochon of coral. The setting is very plain and simple, quite correct for it's age, and the large piece of 22mm flattened bun shaped coral is quite exceptional in it's size, colour and texture for the period. Coral has become an endangered species of gem for use in jewellery, as the oceans h...ave become increasingly polluted over the last 130 years or so. Hence the quality of not only coral, but also of pearls, as well as all other products and foodstuffs from the oceans have deteriorated over the past number of years. A 1930's ring, set with such a beautiful sea generated gem, is thus a treasure indeed. Unusual and unique, yet not a bling piece of jewellery. It will be a joy forever!
Two good and solid sterling silver pieces of Candida jewellery, early South African made pieces dating from the early 1940's. The first, a the bracelet, is 42mm at it's widest, and of a good heavy gauge of silver and of good weight and in great condition. The second image of the pair of clip-on earrings, matching the pattern of the bracelet, 28 x 23mm. original clip-on fittings and also clearly marked on the clips.
A very unusual silver pair of lorgnettes, made of silver and suspended on a silk ribbon with simulated pearl and black and clear glass bead spacers. The black silk cord is approx. 120cm long, and the lorgnettes fold away into a kite shaped pendant for when not in use, which has got a French mark, as well as an English hallmark for London (Import) 1932, and a makers mark G S. A very stylized Art Deco piece, decorative as well as very useful to peruse the menu or the theatre programme. The lorgnette, including the handle, is 86mm long, 34,5mm at it's widest.
A 9ct rose gold ladies Rolex with manual winding 17 jewel movement. The movement is original, and the watch, case, strap and dial in very good original condition.
