It is with a heavy heart that we bring the sad news of the passing of a driver here, at Jim Palmer Trucking. Leah Fetterly passed away the evening of 2/20/18. Please keep your thoughts with her loved ones in this time of sadness. Leah was an amazing person and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Leah ran over half a million miles with Wilson Logistics and trained over a half dozen students, some of the best training any student could have received. She had a grea...t sense of humor, making light of any situation, no matter how bad. We never saw her without a smile on her face. It’s people like Leah that make Jim Palmer, it’s people like Leah that make this world a better place. It was an honor to have Leah on our team and a part of our family. She will always be in our thoughts and held close to our hearts. You are loved and missed by many, Leah. May you rest in peace.

We will be setting up a GoFundMe account to help her family with the arrangements if you would like to make a donation. We will update everyone when it is set up. Thank you for your support.

Well, on the pro's , over all compaired to the 5000 truck company's, they seem more down to earth, they seem to work with you more. But their night dispatchers are short with you on the phone and some...times rude. Another con, the new trucks they are getting have less features such as no fog lights and unless gauges such as applied pressure gauge and the 60 load gauge. They told me its my puppy but yet they disable the manual mode shift which I feel is a safety issue and you have to get approval to change anything like speed perimeters or whatever. Today I'm more diappoint then satisfied after waiting four months for a new truck. So now, let us see if over time it gets better. See More

I did my training here, great course, good trainers. Been driving for them just over a year, plenty of miles, no complaints. Everyone is friendly and professional.
Highly recommend it for anyone starting out.

A little over a week ago I began my training with Jim Palmer through their CDL program and am now delivering loads over the road with my coach. In the time beforehand, I was in constant contact with m...y recruiter, Ellen, who made the whole process so much easier and stress free. She and I were in constant communication and she was able to answer any question I could possibly think to throw her way. Not too long after, I left for Missoula where I got to meet the face behind making all of this possible, as well as those of my instructors. Everyone at this company greets you as a friend and provides you with everything you could need. During my time training on-site, I received support from almost everyone that was around to provide it. The company was also able to set me up with a coach with similar personality traits, allowing for the time on the road to go as smoothly as possible. All in all, I am so very happy with my decision to come to Jim Palmer and foresee even greater times ahead with them. See More

About a week after I contacted my recruiter Ellen, she had me on my way to Missoula to begin my training. Very quick and painless process. No time was wasted in getting me trained and ready to go out ...with my trainer. While the training is an accelerated program, it is very much hands on training which works out best for the majority of people, even though I failed my CDL drive test the first time, Shannon, Darwin, and Chris all made sure to do their best in making sure I passed the second time. Which I did! Overall I am extremely happy with Jim Palmer trucking, I don't think I could have made a better decision in joining this company! See More

I am very impressed with how professional everyone at Jim Palmer has been throughout the entire process
. Everything is as you are told it will be from the very beginning of the application until yo...ur out on the road with your coach.
Palmer treats you like part of the family and you feel like part of the team from the first day.
Everyone is genuinely interested in giving you everything you need to succeed in the trucking industry and it shows, my recruiters, Luke and Stephanie, my trainers Shannon, Chris and Justin my fleet managers Skip and Eric and my driving coach Lester have all taken interest and been very supportive in my success.
Joining the Jim Palmer family was the best choice I could have made to be a successful professional in the trucking industry.

Alex was a very nice lady but I was turned down for employment and not given a reason why. Over 17 years experience no accidents or DUI no felonies also. can't understand why and nobody would tell me .

I am the wife of a current driver. The only downfalls of this company is they are leased on with Prime. Prime seems to have more control of Jim Palmer then what is led to believe. The driver whethe...r you are a company driver or owner operator is responsible for fees associated with the com data/com check card. Every time you pay a lumper using a com check, you are responsible for the $2.55 fee and it adds up, especially on multiple drops. Even to access your money and transfer it has a fee! Tyler Tummons is an very good dispatcher and is on top of things, he is very aware of when you would like home time and days off and works to get it done. Jennifer Bumke is a good recruiter, she was very friendly and professional. It would've been nice if Jim Palmer website let you know they were leased on with Prime, and you will never be pulling a Jim Palmer trailer. You also learn that when hired on with Jim Palmer you will be going through the Prime website for your training videos before getting to Missoula. You can have a rider in your truck for $21.00 a week, is a bit steep. From my observation and watching there are just too many Prime hands in the pot at the moment. As with anything, what company works for one person may not work for the next person. I do believe their is a trucking company out there for all those who love trucking. If you do not want to drive and be mainly controlled by Prime, then this company may not be for you. They are not a bad company just a company trying to work out all the kinks. It just isn't the right fit for us! Happy Driving everyone! See More

Not enough stars here on Fb to truly and Honestly rate JPT.
From the owners to the fleet managers it's all one can wish and ask for. I just keep asking what's the catch and all drivers and staff answ...er the same way. JPT Is truly this great there is no catch. From the phone call with the recruiter to every day you are out working it's nothing but pure honesty and friendship. There is no stress and none of the big company drama and politics. JPT Gives you all the tools you need to succeed and it's just up to you to put them to use and work. It's that good to be true. Jim Palmer has been a fantastic place to work. Everyone at the terminal feels like family. My recruiter Ellen keeps tabs on me even now that I'm out of training, and the other drivers are a blast to h...ang out with at the terminal or when we bump into each other on the road. I'm finally financially stable and I'm getting to see incredible places every day and loving every minute! See More

I talked with recruiter Alex. She was so nice and professional. Took her time explaining everything to me plus answered all questions I had at the time. I'm currently researching, but so far Jim Palm...er is sitting on top of my list by far. Not a single negative check on my list so far. And she never pressured me to sign up, she knows I'm researching and respected that. I'm a loyal person, so whomever I sign with, it will be until my second retirement. Thanks Alex! See More
