This is a wonderful traditional Irish Pub. They are a dying breed unfortunately, especially in Dublin. But this pub, I am proud to call my local is special. Gre...at, friendly staff, lovely Tapas style food, and it's best testament is that it is the only pub on the Northside that my southside friends will come across the Liffey for ! See More

No TV; no stupid football games or any other annoying sports feeds; No music; just great people, great craic; great chat, The best Guinness in Ireland 🇮🇪 And some damn good food too - what more could you want - there should be 10 stars available in my opinion!

This is the bar that you need to experience when you visit Ireland! No tourist trap here.,.just great atmosphere and even better conversation on both sides of the bar. Almost afraid to post this, as I would hate for it to become so popular that it becomes everything we try to avoid.

We visited yesterday. The stew was to die for and coddle looked the business

Then adjourned to the bar and stayed 3 hours supping Guinness and having the crai...c. Also had a game of rings

A fantastic extra day in Dublin thanks to Ophelia.

I will be back

What else to add? One of the World's Great Pubs. Dripping with history, atmosphere, bonhomie, super locals, great service and of course ... the best Guinness ...anywhere. I am sorry I missed the food made by Ciaran and crew which the locals told me too late is among the best available in Dublin. Well done all around. Certainly made my trip to Dublin and I would hazard an opinion that it is worth a visit to Dublin all by itself. May be the only reason to go to Dublin outside of The National Gallery. Skip the City Centre and the hordes of tourists there and go to The Gravediggers. See More

I have met the most wonderful people here at The Gravediggers pub. I Just fell in love with this pub, and the people working there. Such warm welcome and good service, I already miss you all.

Perfect Irish experience. The Kavanagh family run a wonderful two component bar. On the one side is the old original drinking bar, which is a must visit; if y...ou get there early enough you will meet Eileen who keeps the place spic and span, and then hangs around for "just the one". On the other side you have the dining area, with truly excellent stews and Irish Spring Rolls and other well prepared dishes. Be warned however; they do not accept anything except cash, which is a shame as there is no ATM close by. See More

My husband and I recently visited for a first time. It was wonderful. Guinness was perfect, food was excellent (we had the Stew and Irish Spring Rolls), and i...t was a delight not to have conversation overridden by TV. The Kavanagh's have had the right idea for a very long time. Keep it up. We will be back for another visit on our next trip to Ireland. See More

when people tell you about "old man" pubs, in the good way of course, this is THE pub their're talking about. Its a wonder that they've survived into the 21st c...entury and i'm damned glad they have.
It's a "must visit" on the Dublin pub trail.
Also reliably informed its very very high on the black stuff "best in city" list.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful lunch here. I had the chef's special coddle and the broth was delicious plus the contents were tender and flavorful. Since this... was my first coddle, I was not sure what to expect, but I am now a big fan. Not only were the family/staff engaging, attentive and gracious, but the traditional feel of the pub made me feel right at home. Everyone was friendly and I am looking forward to returning sometime soon. I highly recommend a visit to Gravediggers Pub. See More

Three simple words:
Best. Pub. Ever.
Had a great time, an outstanding pint, and some of the best company a visitor could hope for.

Called in with friends after a fantastic guided tour of Glasnevin cemetery. We all ordered Guinness and it was perfect.

Our Dublin friend advised us to stay fo...r lunch as we were going to head back into the city to eat. Lunch was delicious and Anne, whose family owns the bar was very welcoming and great craic. We will all definitely be back. It's everything an Irish pub should be!! See More

We were on a short weekend trip from the North East of England and decided to call in for a jar of the best Guinness in Dublin according to a local we spoke to ...yesterday. Please bear in mind they dont serve food on Sunday's as we found to our cost. The staff were very friendly and the Guinness was 10/10. Now we will have to go back again and sample the nosh and sup more of the black stuff. Thanks folks. See More

Amazing place. Guiness was good and cheaper than in city center. Kitchen was already closed as I came very late. Would go there again.
