If I were to be allowed a final meal of my choice on this earth, it would be a combo hot, a hot dog with everything, and a small ice no cover from Johnnies.

I try to eat this regularly just in case.

I’m biased cause I grew up on johnnie’s.... it’s my absolute favorite combo ever. The Italian ice is my favorite. There are good places to get Italian ice but here is my favorite...

The food is amazing but the drink selection is awful! Johnnie's now serves generic soda. Not Pepsi! Not Coke! GENERIC! No other options available! It sure would be nice if they had brewed iced tea ...or something other than sugary pop. See More

Cash only or pay $3 fee at their ATM. Went next door to Walgreens and got cash. Came back. No options on Beef sizes. No option to get a Cheezy Beef or BBQ beef. Got a reg beef sweet. They really skim...ped out on on the beef, really was not worth the effort. Portillos and Mr. BEEF ( My 1st option) are just a few minutes away. I wont be back. See More

Even if you have Celiac, this place will not serve you a bunless hotdog or beef. This has been THE ONLY place I have been to that insists on serving there food on a bun.

My second time coming to Chicago, and first time to this location. The beef was delicious, as well as the fries. My girlfriend had a hot dog, and tamale, and both were good as well. Of course I topped... it off with a lemon Italian ice! See More

It was just OK. I don’t like to find big pieces of fat and gristle in my beef and I hit the jackpot. Not sure if I will stop again and I’m sure they couldn’t care less. Whatever...Portillo’s now all the way !!

Hot beef like in the old neighborhood. Awesome. Cash and Carry only. Great for after a Sunday night IceHogs game. Or great to pick up on a Hawks early game too.

We try to have Italian beef every time we come back to Chicago and our friend took us to Johnnie's for the first time the other day. It was amazing! I've had three Italian beef sandwiches in the past ...two weeks and Johnnie's was by far the very best I've ever had (although it's been 30+ years since I've had Al's beef so I can't remember the taste of their sandwich). I highly recommend Johnnie's. See More

How hard is it to make a beef combo without bread???? Absolutely ridiculous! With all the people avoiding gluten and the people with celiacs disease, how can you not accommodate this request? Do you n...ot care about your customers? Do you not want return customers?
Unbelievable.

Beef, swimmin, hot, Italian ice, no lid! Johnnie's has the best Italian beef in the Chicagoland area hands down! I have been going to Johnnie's since the 90's, please bring Johnnie's to Addison Illinois :)

The beef sandwich was just okay, very skimpy on the beef but the peppers were plentiful and horrible, canned vinigar peppers. I asked for well done fries and the smart aleke cashier said "we only do f...ries one way", okay i should have told him I didn't want them ! The tamales were very good and fresh. I doubt if i will ever go back to Johnnie's beef on Arlington Heights Road again. I am a Paying customer and I was truly annoyed and so was my husband with the service of this establishment. Here you had 9 very disappointed customers. See More

While the sandwiches have gotten a little skimpier over the years, nothing beats the taste of a Johnnie's Beef. The seasoning, the meat, and just the right mix of giardiniera makes this THE stop for I...talian beefs. Every list of best beef joints has this at or near the top and it's there for a reason. Best Italian Beef and Combo (Italian Beef & Sausage) I have ever had. The Italian Ice is also very good and an extremely good deal at under $2 for a large. Fries are similar to McDonalds. Happy to kno...w there are one of these restaurants in the suburbs since the original location is out of the way for me to go to. Also like that this location has plenty of seating including indoors! Highly recommended! See More

Me and Johnnie go way back. This place has the stuff. Get the beef ask them to give it a flavor bath in the beef juice. Hot peppers? Yes +extra. Now that your belt feels right go across the stre...et and check or some puppy's! See More
