I am getting involved in helping in many ways for non-profit causes. One of those ways is helping with the 2014 Pink the Rink event on October 3rd, 2014, in Bloomington, Indiana. Pink the Rink helps support those with breast cancer -- Terri Smithson, who is on the video, is a Breast Cancer Survivor. Great event. Great person. Please help me get the word out to as many people as possible. Thanks.
A mutual friend of mine is going through a terrible loss and ANYTHING to help make things easier for her during this time helps. I also ask that everyone keep Katie, faimly and friends in your thoughts and prayers. This is such a tragedy and I can't imagine what they are going through. Please help spread awareness through this story. God Bless you all and thank you so much.
It's going to be a beautiful day for a benefit tomorrow! Please stop by the Greene County fairgrounds and help a great cause. We will be raising money for Riley's Children's Hospital in memory of a precious 3 year old named Brooklin who recently lost her battle with PPB. Jake Dodds and the Stagecoach Revolvers will be there helping the cause as well! We would love to see you there.
I plan on attending this function -- would love to see anyone that will be in the area.
Brooklin’s Angel Memorial Benefit
This is in honor of Brooklin Shorter, the daughter of Amy (Carpenter) & Michael Shorter, who at age 3 passed away recently with Pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB), is a malignant tumor of the lung that affects young children. Amy was from Bloomfield and attended Bloomfield School graduating in the Class of 1994. We are having a benefit to raise fun...ds for Riley Children’s Hospital in precious Brooklin’s Memory. There will be a lot of fun things going on that day including the Colt’s Traveling Museum from 12 – 2pm, an auction of donated items, food for purchase, local entertainers donating their time also, along with other activities for family & children. Hopefully a big attraction and a fun thing we are doing to raise money is a Kiss The Pig Contest it will feature local politicians running for office in the fall raising funds for our cause by whoever has the least amount of donations at the end of the night will have to kiss the pig. What better way to honor Brooklin’s memory than to donate to help other children with cancer.

As we head into this beautiful Memorial Day weekend with our family and friends, please remember the real reason for this holiday. I want to share a story that is very close to my heart and the heart of everyone in my hometown. In September of 2011, Private Brett Everett Wood lost his life in Afghanistan. Brett was 19. I will never forget how our small town and community came together to honor him. It was truly amazing to see the respect and love that was shown to Brett and ...his family. He was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Thank you, Brett for paying the ultimate price for our freedom. You will never be forgotten. You are my hometown hero! God bless the families of all our fallen soldiers and thank you to all that have served past and present! We are the home of the free because of the brave! Have a safe Memorial Day weekend everyone!
