Trail Update: Our trails are still in excellent condition in spite of those few plus zero days we had. Even the two new by-passes which had the least amount of snow were not showing any bare patches as of yesterday. This photo is of trail # 2 looking north from the Mokki shelter.
The only vandals we have to deal with are the four-legged variety. Our shelter at Big Bend looks spiffy with its new paint job from last summer, but you can see on the beam on the left hand side that it has been chewed on by a bear. Then at our Campbell Lake shelter, a bear got into a discarded oil jug and proceeded to try to get into the shelter with his black oily paws making a real mess.
AND THE LUCKY WINNERS ARE:
for the COOK & COOKE POKER DERBY - 1ST prize of $1000 went to Dave Colgan, The Pas. 2ND prize of $600 was won by Brent Lechelt, The Pas. 3RD prize of $400 went out of town to Randy Ewankiw, Dauphin.
Winner of the $1000 TWIN MOTORS ELIMINATION DRAW was Amy White of The Pas.
Members of KTSR snowmobiled to Swan River on Friday to attend the North Mountain Riders annual pickerel supper and auction fund-raiser. Their trails are excellent and nothing short of spectacular in the Porcupine Mountains. If you get the chance to ride their trails, you'll be impressed.

Mrtees-fidlers corner service is now open at the junction of # 10 and # 39. See their Facebook page. They are open seven days a week 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. The snowmobile trail is groomed to highway 39. The approx. two km in the south ditch to the corner is not yet groomed, but passable if you take it easy. We will be grooming it eventually, but have to have it approved with Snoman first and that involves some paperwork.
Tickets for our Winter Blast social are now available at Shanes Uptown. Feb. 24th 8:00 pm at the Airport Hall. $25 each. Only 80 tickets available so don't delay if you want to attend this fun event.
Trail update: After that big snow on Jan. 30th and the high winds, there are some big drifts on Root Lake, Campbell Lake and Watchi Bay. Also slush in some areas. But the groomer is back out - did the trail to and around town yesterday and then as far north as Root Lake. Grooming on the east/west Clearwater Park trail today.
