We are taking the Youth bowling after church this Sunday, February 11. Moms and Dads are welcome to come, too, as well as other members. We leave right after worship and plan to be back about 2:30. Bob
Communion scheduled for this Sunday will be postponed until next Sunday, January 14. We will also have the business meeting at 10:00, during the Sunday School hour, followed by the worship service.
The youth will provide a potato bar lunch after the worship service. Lynn Hite asks that the youth meet with her in the kitchen at 10:00 to set up for the lunch. We need any volunteers, along with the youth, to help.

Yes, Virginia, there is God who loves us and has shown His love in His gift of eternal life through Jesus the Christ.
In comes December today with the first Sunday of Advent only two days away. Hope, Peace, Joy and Love dominate the themes of each Sunday and give a glimpse of the wonder which, as Christians, we accept as the greatest gift we could ever receive, Jesus the Christ Child, Prince of Peace. We see what is unseen. Jesus said “blessed are those who have not seen and ...
In light of atrocities committed again by people willing to kill human beings without mercy, and it happens all over the world, we have the one prayer to offer and only prayer that Jesus taught all of His Disciples, The Lord’s Prayer.
Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. ...
Give us this day, our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil,
for thine is the kingdom, and the power,

Do you feel any sympathy for the servant who received only one talent because of his ability, didn't invest it and was tossed out? How about this? Do you feel empathy for this poor soul who was afraid to risk that which he was entrusted? Jesus uses the example of money to help us relate to the things spiritual that He desperately wants us to understand. Come and explore this passage from Matthew with us tomorrow for worship at 11. Sunday School begins at 10.
Join us for Worship this Sunday as Kenbridge Baptist Church's Fifth Sunday Men's Choir sings a very special music selection for this Sunday's Choral Anthem, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms” by Showalter. Our Fifth Sunday Men's Choir is directed and accompanied by Nancy Pennington, our Music Director.
Stop Hunger Now is at the Fire Station this year, Saturday, October 21. Unload the truck at 8:30 with a handful of folks and then everyone starts making meals at 9. Please come. The more we have, the sooner we will be done.
This Sunday, our responsive reading is from Exodus 20:1-4, 7-9, 12-17(18-20) and the message, "Time to Pay Up," is from the text found in Matthew 21:33-46. These selections are scheduled in the lectionary for this Sunday. The lectionary was created years ago that we might have a cycle or rhythm to the Christian calendar. I picked these two in August. I cannot imagine a much better selection of scriptures in light of the Vegas Massacre for this Sunday. Please come early for Sunday School and also join with us in Worship. God bless.
