This is the Kimball Jail that was in Kimball City hall basement ca 1908-1950's. Mr. Arnold later acquired the jail, and donated it to Stearns History Museum in 1988. Many thanks to Stearns History Museum Archivist John Decker for all of the research that he has worked so hard to provide to the Kimball Area Historical Society. John is in this video.

I visit the display that the Society hosts Annually on the 2nd weekend in Aug--during Kimball Days.
The artifacts and history that those wonderfully sweet and kind volunteers have collected and docum...ented are impressive and taught me so much about the history of this awesome little town that I am proud to call Home. See More

I want to convey a Kimball history memory that Bill Stein' s father told him about about a Kimball resident that lived there in the 1940''s. As a young man, Bill was able to actually observe this man whose name was Harry Petitt.
He remembered him instructing his two mules by saying "hi yah" to back up his wagon to the train that stopped in Kimball to drop off supplies. Mr. Pettit was mute and was also deaf. Bill watched in amazement as Mr. Pettit grabbed two 94 lb. bags of... cement off the train with one bag under each arm and put them in his wagon Bill watched him, as he then delivered them and then took them off his wagon again with one bag under each arm and then stacked them neatly at the lumber yard.
He also delivered and carried down the basement stairs at Engle' s grocery store 55 lb. barrels of vinegar.
The store was later purchased by LuVern Hinz, who of course, named it Hinz Grocery.

Hey, kids, it's here! Tell your friends! Inside this week's Tri-County News is a special 4-page pull-out section on the Kimball Express and their state champion...ship win Monday. Some great color photos, and a write-up of each game. It was a hustle to get it all put together less than 24 hours after the championship game, but it's here, and it's gorgeous.

Thirty-nine local businesses and individuals stepped up (on very short notice) to financially help make these four full-color pages possible; they are listed on the fourth page of the pull-out (page 10 in the paper). Please be sure to thank them soon, and often!

Meanwhile, we can start uploading some of the thousands of photos we took at Express games during the state tournament. I'll post a link soon. Enjoy!

It was one of those life-changing events. Everyone affected by the tornado July 11, 2016, that swiped through Watkins remembers exactly where they were, and what happened afterward. Those are memories that will be hard to erase, although time does bring healing.

No need to cook tonight! C'mon out to Triple R Grill & Bar in Kimball for a great pork chop dinner (for only $10). Didn't buy a ticket already? No problem! Just... come on out. Serving from 4-8 p.m. Then stick around for a concert out back with Rusted Revolver. It's the 100th birthday of the Kimball Fire Department, but they're giving out the presents: door prizes will be drawn all night (must be present to win). There's a raffle too (need not be present to win that).
