From the course preview the evening before, to the volunteers, pacers, water bottle stations and crowd support, this was an incredible experience! For a smaller race it had a unique feel, the encourag...ement on every loop from everyone really pushed our group on, the pacers were excellent too and the loop was really nice and I never really grew tired of it. Managed to break 3 hours and secure my spot at Boston next year! Will definitely be recommending my friends and training partners to make the trip! Thanks to all the organizers for a job well done! Saturday was not my day. I was with my pacer up until the half way mark and ended up increasing the distance between me & the group when I spent too much time at an aid station. It became harder to... close the gap. This got more complicated when I fell in the 7th lap so it set the tone for slower finish. But I just want to thank the organizers for a fabulous job. From package pick up to elite water table to aid station workers. I would love to come back for the fall running.......just need to save my sheckles as I'm all the way from Canada. Good job BQ.2!!! Failure never felt so great. I didn't qualify and decided not even to finish Saturday, after falling behind through miles 15-17, but I blame this on a now-realized weakness in my training, not on the ...race, which was nearly perfect from start to finish. Congrats to all of my fellow runners who BQ'd, and I hope to use this valuable learning experience to do the same the next time I marathon... maybe on Sept. 8. Great job, BQ.2! See More

I ran this race last Sept and missed my BQ time by 2:45 + 4 = 6:45 (ran 3:57:45) . My training was still lacking for the last 10K. This Saturday, I was able to BQ and PR with 3:47:25. Dick Pond Pacing... was awesome, my 8 lap mile splits ranged from 8:43 to 8:41 with the last 10K faster than the 1st 10K. I love the course loop. Aid stations are fixed, so it is no surprise for nutrition and hydration and you can plan accordingly. The volunteers are great allowing you to run through the station without breaking stride. Saturday's weather was perfect in every way. Last fall the weather was great too and the heavily shaded trail keeps things cool. The crowd support is awesome and you get to "know" the people cheering as you pass them 8 times. Last year when I finished I was real woozy for about 30 minutes and the volunteers took care of me guiding me to the seating pavilion and bring food and liquids. This year it was so much better as I was prepared and was able to enjoy the BQ/PR and ringing the Bell. I'm a deaf runner, but I definitely heard that Bell! Kudos to the whole team! BTW, I'm running again in Sept, just because!!!! See More

This race was truly phenomenal! An extremely well-put event put together by a team of true professionals. The staff was involved with each individual to make sure that everyone would have a perfect u...nderstanding of everything there is to know on marathon-day. The race direction is phenomenal and very personal. The individual pace-teams ensured that meeting your goal was within reach. Along my journey of previous races I have never experienced such great personalized care and attention for detail. The individual water bottle refueling stations are another example of how important the success of each participant is for the race organization and what your success means to them.
Thank you so very much to everyone for doing a job way above and beyond and exceeding all expectations.
And by the way, I not only qualified for Boston, on top of it I ran a strong PR. My friend KH did also qualify for Boston in a memorial race with extra special meaning after coming back from foot surgery!!!

Thank you, thank you!

This marathon is really amazing, I enjoyed each of the 8 laps, even the last lap, where I was already quite tired, a lady with a big blank sign that said "be positive" gave me the strength to get to t...he finish line, and achieve my classification for Boston 2019.

Thank you very much for the organizers of this event, for the pacer, for the volunteers, for the employees of Geneva Runner Outfitters and for the people of the town of Geneva, they were very kind.

On my list, I will have to run this marathon again and again.

Thank you very much from my heart,

Muchas gracias.

This was my second time running Spring Chance BQ.2. The race is designed for success, every single volunteer was enthusiastic and supportive, and the small race atmosphere makes it personal and emoti...onal. I didn’t hit my BQ last year but this year I happily rang that bell!! Thank you so very much for helping to make a dream a reality for me. See More

I do love Boston and I’ve ran it, but I ran this race to beat my PR... from 4 years ago. And I did! By 3 minutes and 41 seconds... from the course and weather, to the organizers, volunteers, to Elite... water bottle setup and 4 minute ahead pacers, this race was perfect. Thank you for helping me reach my goal! See More

I've run this race twice and you can't ask for more. This race is well organized in every way and all you have to do is run. The 2 water stops plus elite tables make it so you have frequent access to ...hydration and nutrition. I'm 2 for 2 on getting my BQ here. Don't miss this race! Thanks for making this a perfect setup! even without the focus on qualifying for boston, this marathon would be a joy to run! the organizers and pace runners were helpful, the crowd was very enthusiastic and the other runners were all super...-friendly (cuz they're all there for the same reason you are: to get that BQ).

and that's to say nothing of the route! it runs north and south along the river so you have nice long straightaways in the cool refreshing air, perfect for building that momentum. i am happy to say i hit my BQ and hope to be in boston in april 2018... but i may come back next year just because it was such a great experience!

Outstanding race and volunteers. Great venue, too. Very scenic and flat. Would recommend without hesitation.

In my 80+ marathons around the country, I try not to duplicate a race, but I’ll always make an exception for this race!

For the past 3 years in September, I’ve had the pleasure of running this FAS...T, FLAT course, “America’s #1 Boston Qualifier” (around a beautiful lake) in Geneva, IL and in the process, they helped me record 3 BQ’s and 2 PRs!

So if you’re looking for a fast course to set a PR, record a BQ and/or secure your entry to the Boston Marathon, please consider running BQ.2 Marathon Races! The Race Officials, Dave Sheble, and FUN volunteers will give you every advantage that they can to help you to your best qualifying time possible!

Everything about the race is designed to get you into Boston with a time far enough below your qualifying time to make the final cut. They also offer Pacers running 4-mins BELOW the official qualifying standard for Boston. For example, if your qualifying time is 3:30, the pace leader will be running to finish in 3:26. This will give you the best chance of securing a spot at Boston! They also offer “Elite water bottle tables”, that’s right! Pre-fill your own bottles with your favorite, personalized race drink and set them at the assigned table. During the run, simply grab, drink and throw your bottle in the drop zone where volunteers will put them back on the table for your next lap!

They also offer EASY packet pickup and VERY convenient FREE parking! Parking is literally across the street and approx.. 3-min walk to the start line! Hope to see you in 2018! Happy running everyone!! #NothingEverDoneAlone

Fun day. Special thanks to my favorite volunteer at table 01. The handoffs at aide stations were perfect. Good energy.
