Thank-you Africa Progress Panel for documenting the work of Mrs Tshabalala and her co-op, who are beneficiaries of the Abalimi Phambili Programme. We would like to thank the DBSA Jobs Fund and the Department of National Treasury, for funding our Abalimi Phambili Programme in four provinces, without which, our farmers would be unable to seize market opportunities and create more jobs along the agricultural value chain.

Lima Rural Development Foundation is with Kathy Pater Pitout.

Happy International Boss's Day to our MD and LIMA Founder, Mr Duncan Stewart!

Mr Stewart was recently recognised as a "Civil Society Policy Mover and Shaker" at the FANRPAN Annual Awards in August. The award noted his demonstrated excellence in promoting food security, through visionary leadership. Ms Kathy Pitout (KZN Programme Manager) accepted the award on behalf of Mr Stewart who was unable to attend the ceremony. Thank you to FANRPAN for this acknowledgement and to all LIMA staff members and stakeholders for continuously promoting food security today on World Food Day and everyday! #WorldFoodDay #FanrpanAwards

Lucy Humato is a successful farmer in the Mopani district who is supported by Lima. She has managed to obtain an off take agreement to grown butternuts for Biobee Insectarium. Growing butternut for insectarium can be very challenging as farmers have to follow a very strict spraying programme. Any deviation from the programme can lead to massive problems in the insectarium.
