12 years ago, I met Maxine Berman when I knocked her door while campaigning. She was a supporter, mentor, activist and friend. She worked across the aisle and could’ve served one more term in the #Michigan House. I will miss her, her laugh, stories, and knowledge #RIP Max
This was truly a team effort! Heather Catallo deserves an Emmy award for her outstanding work! Thank you to Representives Jim Runstead and Jim Ellison for working in a bipartisan manner and for listening to me and Andy Meisner - and thank you to your staff for their hours spent on these bills. Sandra Hughes OBrien, I’m so happy to have you in my office- you were so helpful and helped to educate others! These bills are a great step forward but there’s still more work to be done.
Thank you Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner, Oakland County Treasurer's Office and Clerk Lisa Brownfor pushing to end this abuse of grieving families. Call ...your MI legislator to encourage a YES vote on HB 4821 and 4822. And kudos to Reps. Jim Ellison and Runstead for sponsoring this bipartisan legislation. http://michiganradio.org/…/manipulative-predatory-and-legal…
Polls are open and will be until 8 tonight - elections matter at every level - use your voice and exercise your right - new voting equipment in Oakland County - fill in the rectangle to the left of your selection - see a picture of an American flag when your ballot is tabulated. Good luck to those on the ballot today!
Today is Women’s Equality Day, the 97th anniversary celebrating the day when the 19th Amendment went into effect mandating that the vote “shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.” I'm thankful for all of those that fought and sacrificed to make that happen.
