Grow your own with "Live Stakes" Dogwood, Viburnum & willow are good species for this. Cut at least a 1/2" dia branch of desired species about 2' long. Cut the end that will go into the ground at 45 degs & the top flat, soak in pale of water for 24 hrs then use mallet to drive into ground about 1' or 50% of branch length, keep moist till established then water as needed, the new foliage will be your barometer for watering, Use your existing shrubs , friends or I've harvested over 1,000 "stakes" for a $5.00 permit on WI state land about the same $ on fed land.
Back at it!! Uncovering the plants in March is rare for up here 2nd time in 13 years I think.. I see the last post here was Dec 2nd, so only 4 mos. of winter.
