We recently had the chance to interview the artist Jim Dolan about his connections to Walt Whitman! To Dolan, placing Whitman on campus was a way to encourage individual learning. Dolan stated, "I figure, if you walk in front of Whitman for four years, or five, or six years eventually you’re going to read his prose just because you’re going to say 'who is that guy, I mean, I sat with him a couple times or I did this or whatever'. . . you might develop an appreciation for history or music that you never had before."

To read the entire interview head over to the Writing Center's blog here https://msuwritingcenterblog.wordpress.com/!
