1605 Waihopai Valley Road.

Brand New 1:5000 "Singing Bridge" map with open running forest and feature-filled open land.

...

Day courses (orange & yellow) starts from 3:30-5pm, then enjoy socialising, a sausage and a drink at the Waihopai Hall before running a different orange or yellow course in the DARK from 5:30-6:30pm.
Short technical point to point courses Orange ~3km, Yellow ~1.5km.
Children under 10 to be accompanied around by adult. Headlamp might be of use!!!!!

Members $5 for one course, $8 for both (max $15 & $20 per family).
Non-members $8 for one course, $12 for both (max $20 & $27 per family) plus $3 SI card hire .

Sausages/Drinks $2.50 each

Note: due to venue bookings this is a week earlier than originally scheduled.

OY2 Pelorus Challenge - 2nd October Sam's Creek Map The Pelorus Challenge is a competition between Nelson & Marlborough orienteers, but is open to everyone.with a love of the outdoors and sense of adventure. This is the club's premier "point to point" event. Six Courses! - White (Very Easy), Yellow (Easy), Orange (longer distance, moderate navigation), Long, medium, and short Red (hard navigation). Competitive Grades for Male and Female. 10 & Under, 12 and Under, 14 & Under, Open, Veteran 40+ Super veteran 60+ ​Novice Grades for all ages ​Nelson will host a follow-up event two weeks later at Lake Rotoiti

One more week to get your entries in for the "Abdication of the King" Rogaine!! Get excited people.... it should be a good one 😉

The much anticipated annual MOC "King Series" Rogaine Event!
Teams of 2 to 5 have 3 hours to navigate on foot around Marlborough Hill Country to collect the most points in a 3 hour timeframe.
Late finishers start to lose 10 points for every minute late......

Prizegiving at NZ National MTB Orienteering champs in Alexandra. Successful three days for Marlborough juniors. In the very competitive M14 grade, Fletcher Kopua 2nd in M14 Long, Angus Kopua 1st and Bryn Bradley 3rd in M14 Sprint. Owen Bradley got 2nd in the M16 sprint and 1st in M16 middle, while a much smaller field he completed some difficult navigation. Parents had a great time but never made the podium.

Successful day for MOC at South Island Champs in Dunedin. Middle distance M10 first and second for Hugh Bradley and Fletcher Kopua. M12 first and second for Owen Bradley and Angus Kopua. Also a first for Owen and Fletcher in yesterday's sprint and a third for Hugh. If only their parents could run as well....

Peninsula and Plains Orienteers

This year PAPO are hosting the National Secondary School Orienteering Championships ( including Years 7 and 8) in July.

The 3 day event will be held from Thurs...day 19th July to Saturday 21st July, during the School Holidays. Competition is open for all levels of experience, entries open 1st May 2018.

Please all PAPO school age students spread the word, print the attached flyer, encourage teachers to collect names and students to take part.

To all our non High School, non Y7 and Y8 members - we will be asking for on the day helpers , there will be the opportunity for all club members to have a run after the championship races for sprint and long, details to follow.
