I attended a wrestling tournament there. Everything was really well organized. My daughter graduated from McCluer in 1998. I liked this school then and it still seems to be a good school. I love North County!

Love McCluer Greatest High School - lucky I got to go there - class of 1968. Got to go back and see it in 2011. Lovely as ever. We were surely a lucky bunch of kids to get to go to that school.

The late 60's the Comets ruled the state in Fb, wrestling, tennis and more. The double cast spring musical. ..we were the largest school in the state. It was crowded 70-71 year with split sessi...ons. It was still great. See More

Good afternoon,

At 3:01 a.m. this morning, Friday, February 8th, I was awaken by a speeding trash truck slamming on the trail parallel to McCluer High School. ...

I reside in Walnut Grove subdivision and my yard backs up to this area . I have complained several times about being awaken by loud delivery services at McCluer High.

I have even spoken to several personnel, whom advised me the services wouldn't start until 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. and anytime thereafter. That has not been a true statement since.

I would like for you to address this concern since it has gone on for over a year now. Attached is a letter I sent September 25th of last year and hope we can resolve this problem since it is disrupting my sleep and causing disturbance to our neighborhood.

Please contact me at your earliest convenience (314) 521.4950.

To Whom It May Concern:

On Monday, September 24, 2012 at 5:30 a.m., I was awakened by the noise of a large truck. A Sysco Food Service truck went through the side path parallel to McCluer High School to deliver food at gate 31.

After I woke up, I slipped on my shoes and drove around to the school premises. I found the truck parked with the back opened delivering food. The truck was a Thermo King with the number 527487 on the side of it and 106414 across the top. It was white with red and blue stripes. It stayed there delivering for an hour. At 5:58 a.m. a Crown Excel Disposal trash truck races through the same area to dump trash bins. Cars, vans, etc continued to travel this path up until 6:05 a.m.

I have complained about the noise level since November of 2011. I have written letters and called several times hoping to get the deliveries to come at a later time. The concrete is not smooth and each time a large truck or trash truck drives over the concrete, it makes the loudest noise that awakens me. The deliveries are early in the morning and are disturbing my peace. I can’t sleep late with the interruptions of this noise.

The Saturday before school started, a large trash truck awakened me at 5 o’clock in the morning on the trail parallel to the school. This was Saturday and most people sleep in on Saturdays late. The trash truck was delivering dumpsters at the bus area and around the premises at McCluer. The noise was ridiculously loud slamming against the pavement. I drove around to get the name of the truck and called the company to find they were closed. I went back home and called the Florissant police that came and explained they couldn’t do anything about my complaint.

I am writing hoping that you consider, we as tax payers would like to sleep in during this time in the morning. The only reason a trash dump truck would be servicing the school this early, would be for a selfish reason – TOO FINISH THE JOB EARLY!

Please contact me to discuss this matter further (314) 521.4950. We have been greatly inconvenienced long enough.

Congratulations to McCluer High School Seniors Amanda Baranowski, Destiny Welch, and Junior, Santia Maderios. Their work was on exhibition for the past month at the Contemporary Gallery on the campus of St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. The reception was last night. Here are images of their work from inside of the gallery (Santia created the drawing, Destiny created the vase, and Amanda created the 3 mugs).
