Was an exhibiting artist at MOCCA fest during their 2017 festival. In the rush of breaking down my table, I forgot a bag of personal belongings in their coat check area. I contacted the company 6 hour...s later, when I realized my belongings were missing (easy enough when you have 5 bags of items already). I got the number from an events coordinator who said they had my bag and would definitely return it to me. I send my credit card info and she said she would get back to me with a price.

Three. weeks. later. and two emails, I get barely a response. Finally I email her again and I get an automatic response that she was on vacation and to contact another employee. Contact them, they ship the bag back

EVERY item in my bag was gone. The employee who stole all of my clothing, makeup, and a few other personal belongings thought it best to put a dirty black sweater in place of all my things. The company handled it by reminding me they aren't responsible for items left on their premises, but apparently they encourage stealing from the public immediately after an event ends, and flat out ignoring people who are making a continuous effort to pay for the return of their things.

Do not go through this company if you have respect for your patrons. They hire people who are more than willing to steal from you should the opportunity arise.

Over priced and rude. If your not a big name they treat you like crap. They also take payments in weird ways.
They want you to do half on a check the other half wired or in a cashiers check . BAIT AN...D SWITCH the price they give you doubles when you get the actual quote. I saw a room that rented for 5600 but with staffing came out to about 12,000+ not including tables and chairs. Numerous frivolous charges for things that are either intangible or you don't receive.
Unnecessary staffing and electricity charges that are mandatory. Sound equipment is over priced and mandatory to use. The charge 2500 just to use their dj equipment and yes.. this too is mandatory. Rental chairs where dirty. the list goes on and on .
Service definitely does not match the price

#TBT to the Outsider Art Fair — Check out Greg Smith's insightful article and great slideshow. He writes, "Perhaps the single greatest quality of the genre, and one that resonates with storytellers everywhere, is that Outsider art is whisks the viewer away into someone else’s fantasy world. The 'who' and their life story is almost important as the 'what.'”

Congratulations to the Outsider Art Fair, which wrapped up at Metropolitan Pavilion yesterday. Carlo McCormick writing in Artforum describes the show as "an evermore-vital reminder of all that art can be and all that can be art." The fair can appeal "equally to collectors of curios and new generations of artists looking to tap into something that just can’t be taught in an MFA program."
