Draft day is here!!! Your Miami Dolphins hold the 22nd overall pick and in a few hours we will see what they do with it. We could have gone a few different ways with this pick but decided to go with what we think would as close to "sure-fire" as you can get. So here it is!!!! The 2017 Miami Dolphins Draft Experts Mock Draft:
Pick 22: Forrest Lamp, OG Western Kentucky
2 time First Team All-CUSA
There were a few players we liked here but we believe this should be the pick to so...
Here it is!!!! The Miami Dolphins Draft Experts' 2016 Mock Draft!!!
Again, we want everyone to understand that this mock was created with the intention that the Dolphins stay at 13. We believe that if they want one of the top targets, such Ezekiel Elliott, Myles Jack or Vernon Hargreaves, they may have to trade up. There's also the possibility that the Dolphins trade back and get more picks, and grabbing a Darron Lee, Kevin Dodd, William Jackson III or even OG, Cody Whitehair...
Happy 2016 NFL Draft Week everyone!!!
We haven't posted our mock just yet because of all the things that have been happening this offseason. There was the Josh Norman news and possible trade up rumors (possible smokescreen). So we've refrained from posting anything until we get as close as possible to the actual draft, when there's a less chance of any pre-movement, being so close to draft day. We like a lot of players but we feel that these guys we want won't be there at 13.... We like Jack, Elliot and Hargreaves, to name a few but again, there's a good chance they will be gone by the time we're on the clock. So, we won't be adding these guys to our mock. But, if these guys are there, we will definitely pull the trigger before our current pick at 13. There's still the chance that we trade up for one of these guys or trade back and get more picks since Tannenbaum said "We are NOT one player away." This draft process has been one of the most difficult to assess in recent years, but know that we have done out due diligence and put up the best, most realistic mock draft possible. Stay tuned for our mock draft for 2016. -Raul
Draft season is quickly approaching draft fans! Raul and I have some fresh new plans and content for you this year!
Lots of scouting buzz out there for the Miami Dolphins and we will do our best to keep you in informed about all of the buzz top of 2016!
Due to the high level of work during our regular day jobs it has been hard for us to post about prospects and such but our big board has a total of 50 prospects thus far. We have strongly looked at CB, DE, OT and OG.. Which prospect do you feel is a good fit for the Miami Dolphins?
Players with outstanding play on the playing field should be recognized with honors of player of the week. There are many different players from many different levels and some names go unnoticed by the media and scouts alike. The Miami Dolphins Draft Experts are proud to Honor three players from every level of college football play as players of the week. Each week we will reveal three players, one from the offense, one from the defense and one from special teams and profile ...them on the page.
FBS Offensive Player of the Week 1:
Derrick Henry Running Back Alabama
13 carries 147 yards and three Touchdowns
2 Recs for 12 yards.
Henry is blessed with rare size and speed and will be on NFL radars this year. After a great opening week the Dolphins brass got a good look at the big bruiser back. Miami scouts were in attendance and I’m sure very pleased with Henry’s production. If he can keep up the production level, he will gather 1st round consideration. He saw only 13 carries against a respectable Badgers defense and made almost 150 yards on the ground. While he might not be a perfect fit in the Lazor scheme he would be a true power back and would be welcomed to the young talented group if the brass go that direction. We will be watching him closer as the season unfolds to see if he can be a special back going forward in the NFL.
FBS Defensive Player of the Week 1:
Texas A&M DE Daeshon Hall
4 sacks 7 Tackles
Hall had a standout week amassing 4 sacks against Arizona State. He has a great 1st step and has a nice motor and bending ability around the edge. With a few pass rushers on the Dolphins team in doubt, Miami might need to consider a few of the prime edge rushers in this year’s class. Hall is one of the best in the class and surely will shoot up draft boards after a great performance against a top 25 team. The junior DE would be an excellent addition to the Miami roster and we should watch throughout the year to see how his game improves.
FBS Special Teams Player of the Week:
CB Will Likely Maryland
223 yards punt return yards and a TD
Likely had a record setting day as a return specialist during the big win over Richmond this last week. Likely totaled 233 punt-return yards, snapping a Big Ten record that has been in the books since 1939. The explosive player has speed to burn and holds some great value with NFL teams looking for a return specialist. Likely will now be considered a threat every time he is on the field but can he overcome these odds and continue to shine? The junior will likely not declare this season but with an electric season he might garner a spot within draft consideration.
