Yesterday at 4:40 p.m. I arrived at MIS to pick up my son. It seemed as though nearly half of the students were still at MIS, intensively engaged with in a variety of after school activities - soccer..., sewing, chess, martial arts, and others I couldn't identify. One would have mistaken the hour to be 10:00 a.m. I watched parents arrive to take children home, some who left begrudgingly, as though they would have been happy to spend the night. The energy in the building was kinetic. Ande Noktes and her staff have created an environment like no other. The phrase, "No one waits to learn," characterizes more than just the school day. I dragged my son, a 9th grader, out of the building at 5:20... See More

Ande and the whole MIS team is on a mission to provide a space where a child's natural desire to ask questions, learn and discover are valued and encouraged - and we are so grateful for how MIS has ch...anged our son's life! He went from coming home from school seeming more defeated, frustrated and discouraged each week to talking about ALL of the amazing things he learned and experienced each day. See More

What my 4th grade daughter just said about the wonderful science teacher at MIS: "If every teacher were like Ms. Jordan, everyone would want to go to school all the time even on the weekends."

We are... so grateful that MIS is in Atlanta, and that it's growing into a K-12 school. We LOVE this school, everything about it, most especially the extraordinary director who has managed to find such extraordinary teachers. If your child LOVES to learn, this school is a gift to your child, and to your family, who will be as happy as we are to have discovered MIS. See More

What a wonderful environment in which to learn! We, the parents of one of your (super) staff members, came to visit today. We were blown away by the manners of your students, the good questions they a...sked, and their "in the moment" learning styles! You've got it going on, MIS. Excellent work, Ms. Ande and staff! After picking up my daughter on her first day of school, I can truly say that we are blessed to be a part of the MIS family. The ride home is 45 minutes, and she talked every minute telling me how man...y friends she met & how much she loves it. MIS is the perfect fit for our family. See More

All of us at MIS want to wish our families a very Happy Thanksgiving! We hope your day is full of friends and family celebrations.

To all that have served and all those that continue to serve, thank you! Happy Veterans Day.

MIS welcomed Congressman John Lewis to our school this morning where he shared his story and encouraged each student to stand by their convictions. As he made his way out, he ended the event by saying, "The teachers and the students are so smart, I wish there were other places in Metro Atlanta like this,"

Congratulations to our runners on a great meet! Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped make the event a success.
