Happy Monday everyone. Spring is in the air and the National Post Office Food Drive is set for May 9th. Please make sure you put out you non perishable food ite...ms, or cleaners and health and beauty items for your Mail Carrier to bring back to the post office where we will be picking up. I will provide an updated list as we get closer to the date. And PLEASE!!!!! make sure your items are not expired and have not been opened.

This food drive brings in about 3000lbs of donations and over 1/3 of it is thrown out because it's either expired or the packages have been open.
And to put it in prospective if we receive 3000lbs, minus 1000lbs = 2000lbs of usable items. we give out between 11,000 and 12,000lbs of food out every month. So, it's important that we received items that we can actually give out.

Also, we are looking for able body adults and teens who can help out that day. We need drivers to make runs from the Post Office to the Pantry with the donations and people to be here at the pantry to help sort through the items.

If you are interested in helping. Please call me at 203-452-2817 or email me at wjolls@monroect.org.

And again,

Thank you for your support. We couldn't do what we do here without you.

Love to see this .. It's all good !!

Monroe Food Pantry is feeling blessed.

We would like to thank Jason Goldfarb and the Congregation B’nai Torah group and all the people at Stop &Shop who donated food, baby products, cleaning supplies... and toiletries this Sunday. It was another very successful food drive resulting in over 1700 lbs of food and non food items.

We are so grateful for everything we have received.

I just want to thank the people who came out to help me at the pantry today. During the torrential downpour today they brought in 4 car loads of food from the food drive this weekend and another load from shopping at Price Rite.

You are the best and I love you all.

Happy Friday everyone. Hope you had a great week.

Last week we received our new refrigerator thanks to the Connecticut Food Bank and the Yeager's. Yesterday we were able to fill it with beautiful, fresh, healthy produce for our families. This is the before picture, I forgot to take an after. 😟

We want to thank everyone who made this possible. ❤️
