One of the things I find most valuable in a mechanic is being able to trust them and one of the things I appreciate most about Mr. Mechanic. I have had a few uncommon issues with my car, and Josh at M...r. Mechanic went out of his way to not only solve the problem but help me understand what was being done each step of the way. I trust that they provide a quality service at reasonable prices and appreciate their hard work and honesty. See More

This is the best mechanic shop I've ever experienced. They are polite, timely, and honest.
I went in (on the word of a different mechanic) needing my break pads replaced and they told me I honestly di...dn't need them changed for quite some time, saving me money when they could have just done the change anyway since I didn't know any better.

More recently my car broke down and they were able to look at it right away the next day, diagnosed the issue and fixed it as well as checked and did regular maintenance within just a few hours.

Your antifreeze (the juice that goes in your radiator) is an essential part of your car's winter protection. Your car contains a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze. Make sure the level is full and the mixture is close to 50/50. Many service stations and repair centers will check this mixture free, and top off with an oil change.

Do you have a lot of keys on your ring? The weight, combined with bouncing while you drive, can wear out the tumblers inside the ignition and eventually lead to ignition switch failure. To add years of service to your ignition switch, drive with only the ignition key in your ignition. It can be a pain to have more than one set of keys however it won't hurt your pocket if the switch does go out.

TIRE ROTATION-Maintain the life of your tires & gas mileage. This should be done every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. Every tire will wear differently. On front-wheel-drive cars, the front wheels wear at almost twice the rate of the rear wheels. In left-hand-drive countries, the left tire will wear faster than the right. Rotating where the tires sit on the wheel helps achieve more uniform wear, which means consistent performance and longer tire life.

CHANGING A FLAT AT NIGHT: Pull your car into a safe spot, even if it means driving on the flat tire. Of Course, driving more than a few feet with no air pressure will ruin your tire and possibly even the rim. On the other hand, being rear-ended by a high-speed vehicle that couldn't see you because you were parked on the road around a curve without any safety indicators will ruin more than just your tire and rim. Try to pick a spot that's flat and dry, and has solid support. Once you’ve located a safe spot to park set safety triangles or flares 75ft. behind your vehicle. Safety First, flat tires occur when you least expect just be prepared.

Keep a record your gas fill-ups and mileage. If you notice your gas mileage getting worse, talk to your mechanic. It may be an early warning sign that something is wrong with your car.
This day in age yyou don't need the good old spiral pocket notebook. Many of the new Smartphones have Apps just for this. This particular one was found @
