A TOTAL FIRE BAN has been put in place for a large part of the State including the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council Area tomorrow. The forecast is for a Severe fire danger rating tomorrow. Permits are suspended. If you see a fire without a fire truck in attendance, report it to triple 0.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for strong winds throughout the area tomorrow. The fire danger is expected to reach severe in parts of our area. Permits are suspended this weekend. If you see an unattended fire, report it to triple zero.
The fire danger rating for tomorrow is VERY HIGH. All permits to burn are suspended.
The Hazard Reduction Burn at Captains Flat has been postponed.

Crews are on scene at a grass fire burning in an easterly direction near Bungendore Rd and Tarago Rd, to the north ea...st of Bungendore. The fire has burnt approximately 100 hectares. Firefighters are in position to provide protection for one property in the area, should it be required. There is no immediate threat to other properties. Waterbombing aircraft will be assisting crews on the ground. Smoke may be visible in the area, however we ask you to please only report unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).
Fire Fighters are responding to reports of a fast moving grass fire off Bungendore Road in the vicinity of of the Mt Fairy Road intersection. Please use caution if driving through the area.
An investigation of the Wog Wog fire yesterday found that despite initial concerns that the fire was deliberately lit, it was actually started by a lightning strike.
Crews patrolled the area yesterday to ensure their were no flare ups before departing the area last night.
