A wonderful "Eye of the Storm" poetry event hosted by our NVC Writing Success Center. Poet Laureate Emeritus Gary Silva hosted our speakers, most of whom have already published their works. Current Sonoma Poet Laureate Iris Dunkle was on also on hand and read from her latest book, one about the recent fire as well as the one in 1906. Lori Barron, WSC staff also read a poem she wrote while staying in a Sonoma County shelter during the firestorm. Our own English department chair, Aaron Difranco, read poems from his travels and Kathleen Winter read from latest book. Professor Robert Millay also read from moments in his life. Great job by all the speakers!
Thank you for attending our event!
