I was stationed in Lemoore from 2005-2008 with the Warhawks of VFA-97. I have very fond memories not just of my time at the base, but of the surrounding region. I would like to eventually go back as a... civilian employee and reconnect with family and the people I served with who are still there. All in good time I suppose. I owe a lot in my life now due to all I experienced while in Lemoore. If it wasn't for the Navy giving me my initial orders to be stationed there, I never would met my wife, her family, and be the father of my three amazing kids. This is just a taste of what I had the privilege of experiencing while stationed aboard NAS Lemoore. See More

My dad was stationed there from 1963 to 1966 we were the first navy kids to go to Armona elementary school. When he retired he couldn't find work here so we moved to Orange County but after living coast to coast this was the only place that felt like home so I moved back here in 1986. Started working at the base in 1991 and had 20 great years there made some good friends and it was awesome to watch Sharon Smyth retire yesterday See More

My daughter is stationed here with her fiancé. I have been here several times now and each time I've had a great visit! I'm retired military so I stay in billeting. It's always been clean and and the staff friendly and accommodating. The commissary s located approximately 1.5 miles away. It is small but it carries everything you need. It is nestled next to a Starbucks, Hertz Rental car, and the Navy Exchange (NEX). The Food court in the NEX has tasty food from such places as Panda Express and Subway.

I've visited base housing and it's nice as well. They have lots to do around the area. There is hiking, camping and sight seeing in the Sequoia and Kings National forest, Yosemite National Park and San Francisco along with L.A. are just a 2.5-3 hr. drive away. Hanford, Visalia and Fresno are the larger nearby cities that are within a 45 min drive. They have excellent shopping and restaurants. I really enjoy my visits to Lemoore, NAS.

I was stationed there from June 1962 thru Feb.17,1966 and was assigned to VA125 ( Sky Hawk High ), and worked in Ground control and Jet shop until Discharged as ADJ2 in Feb.66( Thanks for the extra t...ime Mr. Castro).
I got married just before arriving on station and lived in Hanford. The wife and I started a family after a couple of years there and she delivered the first set of twins on NAS Lemoore.
The last two years there I worked at night and went to Reedley JR College in the day time to get my A&P mechanic's license for civilian air craft thru their Aero Dept. They were very trying years but I loved it.
I have been looking for info and pictures of the old VA125 with the A4's but most of all the sign out front with the logo and said Sky Hawk High. I would like to have a "T" shirt made for what ever time I have left. I live in "T" shirts during the summer months out here in N.E. Oklahoma.

My Dad, Harold (Rowdy) Jones, was stationed here 1968 through 1972...I started school at Akers Elementary School, on the base. I was looking for some old pictures of the housing we lived in. I only re...member Coral Sea being the street name. I tried to pull this up on Google Earth but it looks as though the housing is no longer there :( Just a walk down memory lane, I lost my Mother, Wilma Jones, last year and we sure had some good memories there in that housing. I barely remember a few of our neighbors, one of the wives name was Pilar and there was twin girls, Tina and Dina. See More

From the mom-and-pop storefront shops that anchor Main Street to the high-tech startups that keep America on the cutting edge, small businesses are the backbone of our economy and the cornerstones of ...our Nation’s promise. These businesses create two out of every three new jobs in America, helping spur economic development in communities across our country and giving millions of families and individuals the opportunity to achieve the American dream. We keep our local economies strong and help maintain an American economy that can compete and win in the 21st century.
When you walk down Main Street in any city in America, you can often find great restaurants, service providers, and handcrafted, Made-in-America products from local shops. It’s wonderful to simply go in and visit with local business owners and hear what’s happening in the community.

There are many people in my life that appreciate a unique gift from a local business, Everyone knows that your dollar goes a long way at when you buy a product or service from a small business. That money goes right back into the local economy. And that’s important, because half of working Americans either own or work for a small business, and small businesses create two out of every three new jobs.

It’s great to find the perfect gift from a small business. Often, when you carry it to the counter, you can see the business owner’s eyes light up. They tell a story about how that gift was made. Or where it came from. Or how it’s a one-of-a-kind. And the gift immediately becomes even more meaningful and special.

Let’s all do our part to support America’s small businesses as they continue to strengthen our economy and create jobs. So since I am in the restaurant business I suggest you go out and support your favorite Lemoore restaurant Ethel Reds, Senior ponchos, the Vineyard Restaurant, Saigon Pho Rolls, Terri's front street grill,
Toledo Mexican Food, Reynas, Zenys. there are some I didn't mention thats because I am tired of typing. So I said what I wanted to say..Have a happy day... jerry @ Ethel Reds Chop House
