CTI1 Katherine Keilman of Cryptologic Warfare Group SIX stands beside 12 backpacks, 14 blankets and several other items she donated for the "Backpacks of Love" drive on April 17th at Fleet and Family Support Center on Fort G. Meade.

Children in foster care are often moved quickly out of abusive situations, with little or none of their personal items. In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Blue Ribbon Project's Backpacks of Love drive provides these necessary staples in... a backpack: a change of clothing, pajamas, underwear, socks, toiletries, a blanket, a toy, stuffed animal, and books appropriate to age and gender.
A representative of the program meets each child at their new placement and presents them with their backpack.
Anyone wishing to donate can drop off items daily at FFSC, the chaplain's office, or Today (April 19) between 1100-1300 in front of the exchange.
