So I have been debating about sharing this but it is so exciting it is just bubbling out. Last Friday our Morning Glory staff devotion was about how when we pr...ay, God shows up to fight our battles and answer our prayers. Some of my teachers were like, God answers your prayers because of who you are. I told them that God answered inspite of who I am and if they would trust and ask He would answer their prayers as well. In our closing prayer we asked God to provide the remaining funds for the new chapel. Then God showed up and Louie posted that the remaining four thousand dollars were given. I love it when God shows up and nails the lesson. I am getting the final plans this weekend then we break ground for the Morning Glory Chapel. Happy Birthday Louie Murillo. Morning Glory prayed for you today.
You have been AMAZING at helping reach our GOAL to BUILD a NEW CHAPEL for Morning Glory Christian Academy in San Raymundo, Guatemala. We are just $39...25 away from reaching our goal of $40,000 with one week to go. Imagine these kids not worshipping in a tent like in the video, but worshiping in a brick and mortar chapel that will impact generations to come!
If you've been holding out- this is your chance. Every penny counts. Its not about making the biggest donation, its about "Being Part of the STORY!" Lets do this thing together. Be Part of the Story.

It´s long but from my Heart
The world sells us expectations of unending happiness; beautiful white snowy mornings, perfectly adorned Christmas... trees and loving families gathered around a table filled with perfectly cooked and plentiful food. But if we listen carefully to the message of the hymns of old we quickly realize there is a different story to be told. The birth of our Savior was indeed a wondrous event but I have often thought about Mary and how she felt on that night so long ago. Mary was probably a very young girl, perhaps just a bit older than my grand daughter Megan, who still loves to play with her Barbie dolls and torment her little brother. I can only imagine the fear and uncertainty that Mary must surely have faced on that fateful night. Not only was she tired from traveling, she was far from her family, from her mother or friends, the only place to rest was among the barn animals and her in this stable she was to give birth alone with no mid wife, no mom to hold her hand and coach her though, to a son that she had not expected and the only place to rest her child was in a feeding trough filled with hay and straw. Not a clean room with fresh sheets and a soft bed but a barn full of animals and all the smells that come with. I am sure for Mary it was anything but “A glorious Night”. But the angels sang and the shepherds came to worship the king who had come to walk among men on that Holy Night so very long ago.
Today the words ring as true as ever: “A Weary World Rejoices….”. Today as I busy around my house cooking and preparing our Christmas meal, my heart is heavy and yet oddly full of joy. We are surrounded with a broken world full of evil and sin, surrounded by broken people wounded by life and those around them. Every day I talk to broken children injured at times almost fatally by the very people who should be there to protect their tender hearts and gently guide their paths as they grow. I have stopped buying the newspaper or even watching the evening news, there is too much pain, so much death and so much hurt. But in the midst of all, the message of Christmas, a message of hope brings faith and life and yes “a Weary world rejoices.” Yes my friends Jesus IS the reason for the season but as a dear friend reminded me this morning let us not forget if we truly “want to keep Christ in Christmas, the we must “Feed the hungry, cloth the naked, forgive the guilty, welcome the stranger and the unwanted child, care for the ill, and love your enemies.
‘Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
To loose the chains of injustice
And untie the cords of the yoke,
To set the oppressed free
And break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry?
And to provide the poor wanderer with shelter –
When you see the naked, to clothe them,
And not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a] will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
So as this Christmas season draws near my this be our message, may this be our song, not the perfect greeting card picture, but the messy smelly message of God´s people being the hands and feet of the Christ child, bring hope to a broken world, encouragement to the lost, binding up the wounds, welcoming the stranger and comforting the hurting.
From our heart to yours May your Christmas be filled with Hope and your New Year with peace. Thank you for being
So there are days that everything seems hopeless and I question What I am doing and where I am going, I feel so overwhelmed and so incapable. Then God shows up... and the pieces fall into place and a dream twenty years in the making knocks on the door. Lord give us the faith to walk through the doors you open and the faith to know and trust that when you open a door, You will make the way.
