Prays for us please if you read this.
Happy Sunday! Today, the senior male we brought in yesterday has gone home.....with the family he had lived with since he was just a pup!!!! We had named him Harvey and today we found his real name is Harley. We almost got the name right. His family has been looking for him. They called animal control and have been checking their website but Harley wasn’t listed because he was in medical treatment. Kudo’s to one of their animal control officers who saw the families post... looking for their 14 year old Shar-Pei on the neighborhood next door page, recognized him and called the family. They had his medical records since he was a puppy and all the proof we needed to know he was theirs and he was well cared for and very loved. Lots of happy tears today as Harley went back home to his family. This story has a happy ending but please let this also be an educational opportunity to stress the importance of visiting the local shelters in person when you have a dog missing. Phone calls just don’t ensure you are getting information on all the dogs in their care. I’m so thankful to all our volunteers and supporters for making it possible for us to take in a senior dog with health issues. Had Rescue not been there, Harley might not have had the opportunity to go home today. Feeling thankful and happy that Harley and his family have been reunited and his story had a happy ending. ❤️
We were contacted by animal control in SW Texas about this sweet old guy. He was stray on the streets. Weather here could not have been easy on this beautiful senior male. X-Rays show severe arthritis in both stifles and moderate in his elbows. Thankfully he is heartworm negative and in otherwise good shape. Vets believe with pain management and anti-inflammatories he can have quality of life for several more years. If you could open your home and heart to a senior Shar-Pei in need, please let us know. So sad he was on his own. We know he will be forever grateful.
Three sisters came to us today in Texas. Chikis, Mily & Roxi are 4 1/2 years old and so sweet. They are littermates who have been together since birth. Unfortunately their owner came upon difficult times and could no longer care for them. It will be difficult to keep them together but if anyone is ready for a large extended family of super sweet and well behaved girls let us know. Shar-Pei are like potato chips, can’t have just one. We have three waiting for you now. They are precious!
Thought we would give you chocolate for Valentines Day. Cadbury is in Texas and ready for his forever home. He is soooooo sweeet!!!!!! Happy Valentine’s Day to all our NASPR friends and family❤️❤️❤️
When a family member goes into hospice it turns your world upside down. Raven is losing her owner and we are hoping to find her a new family to make her world a little brighter. Raven is 2 years old and is currently living in Louisiana. She will be coming to Texas early next week. Raven loves children, other dogs and even cats! All she needs is a loving family to help her through.
Hard to believe this handsome fella was 20 lbs thinner just 3 months ago!!! Elmo was a cruelty case seized in Oklahoma who has been in foster since December. How anyone could neglect this sweet beautiful boy we will never know. He is a love bug and does well with the children and other Shar-Pei in his foster home. Since gaining weight, he recently had heartworm treatment and is doing great. He will be ready for his forever home soon. Amazing what a difference love can make. Thanks to all our supporters for your support and donations making it possible to save dogs like Elmo and so many others in our care.
This handsome guy is on his way right now. About 3 years old, @ 60 lbs, dog friendly and a love bug. He was found stray in Central Texas, owner found and they decided to surrender him because they felt they couldn’t care for him. He’s in great shape, healthy and I promise looks much better when not behind bars!!! Welcome to NASPR Texas! I’m sure your new family will read this and be here to get you soon!
Meet Ginny. She will be coming to us in Texas today. Ginny is 10 years old and has never not had a loving family. Ginny’s Mom and Dad are both now unable to care for her as they have been hospitalized and in assisted living. She loves cats but is frightened of other dogs. Loves walks and just needs love. Please help us find her a home. Rescue is a safe place but it’s no place for her golden years.
Malibu jet setting with these amazing volunteers to NASPR Texas. A little TLC and some hair and this pup will be ready for her forever home. Thanks to PILOTSNPAWS and everyone who helped get her safely into NASPR's care.

Five more fur-babies winged their way to a second chance at life this morning.
PILOT...SNPAWS pilots David and Diane Newton flew from Conroe, TX to Hammond, LA. We maximized our resources flying pups in both directions! My mom was an honorary flight volunteer today. She was all smiles as she held Lillie, the Pomeranian. 😆
Thank you to Westie Rescue Houston, Recycled Poms Houston, National Shar Pei Rescue and local LA rescue Hope and Hearts 4 Paws.
A special thanks to Kim Dudek, June Atwood, and Val and Mike Thomassie, Deana Flak, PJ Glenn and Ginger Osgood for their help with fostering, vet trips, and ground transport.
It truly takes a village to save one dog… Or five! Thanks to all who were a part of Lillie’s, Roscoe’s, Smush’s, Barkley and Roscoe #2’s journey!
May God bless you abundantly for the blessings that you have given to these babies… A second chance at life and love!
Until next time......blue skies....
