This is the first time I've ever written a radio program, and I'm assuming my chances of Karen Shiff...man actually even seeing it are quite remote. I feel compelled to write it anyway because it's a topic very much on my mind this year. I listened to part of your show, "On Point", this morning, specifically coverage of Mueller's appearance. All I heard was very biased statements made by highly partisan people such as Adam Schiff. There was absolutely no balance in the presentation at all, not even a pretense. Not mentioned was the genesis of the Mueller Report, the infamous Steele dossier. It's been determined this came from Hillary Clinton's camp and appears to have been instigated by Russian disinformation to Steele, which was then taken up by partisans in our government without checking it's veracity. Your whole presentation was highly biased and not only non-informative, it was dis-informative. It was little more than yet more partisan speculation and propaganda.

I expect this from sources such as MSNBC, CNN, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, et al., but for NPR to be fully engaging in it is extremely disheartening to me. I am an educated man and pride myself on being able to take facts and then determine the truth. That's become very difficult to do now. Politicians have always been partisan to one degree of course, but in the past we could rely (more or less) on the national media to give us the "straight" story. Unfortunately this is not what we have today. The media, and I now include your program, has become as ideological as even the most extreme politicians. This is dangerous, maybe even fatal, to our society and democracy. Who will give us the truth? Who will give us all the facts in a straight unbiased fashion? The transition of journalism into partisan propaganda is without doubt the biggest danger to our country, not the Chinese, not the Russians. We can no longer solve problems as we did in the past through compromise because of it. You, Karen Shiffman, have a unique position to bring us straight facts and a variety of viewpoints, yet you choose not to. Instead you choose to increase the already historic level of polarization and budding hostility. I turn off Rush Limbaugh, MSNBC, CNN, and Sean Hannity et al., and I now turn your program off as well for the same reason. Again, I find it highly unlikely you will ever see this email, but in case you do I'd like you to stop and think about the damage you and the others mentioned above are doing to our society. Who ever was behind the Tom Ashbrook smear job should be ashamed of themselves. Once again, I tuned ...in, thinking, well, maybe I can continue to recieve information and a greater understanding of the issues of the world with guest hosts on On Point. But it's just awful. What did you do? Why? I cannot listen to the show; it's not the same and never will be. Get rid of On Point and start over...and god willing, Tom will soon be back as the host of another great show on another station. I did try to come back...but now, gone forever.

P.S. I am not a Tom Ashbrook groupie...I'm an intelligent woman who misses the great conversations offered through the wit and wisdom of Tom Ashbrook. And if we wish to truly see a better world evolve, why did the station not offer Tom and staff an opportunity to work with and invest in a highly qualified HR team to resolve conflict rather than fire?
