I love it so far the only thing that didn’t sit right with me was when I came I to sign up last week I was told no start up Fee and 39 a month and while taking my info he asked what card I was using t...o have my monthly payments to come out of. I give him My card and I saw him swipe,then he said I just charged your card for prorated amount for this month. I was like wow u didn’t even ask what if I didn’t want it to come out of that card. He just swipe and told me after the fact. That was a little misleading to me and sneaky at the same time. I have no problem paying prorated amount but tell me first and let me agree before u swipe my card smh. If I was a nasty person that could have really got ugly. See More

I have been with OneLife for over two years and never had an issue, but now I want to cancel my membership immediately. I have never been treated so horribly and unprofessionally in my life. Kayla, a ...front desk worker, and Karina, a shift manager (not store manager), were very rude and insulting. I had a guest with me who got a guest pass off One Life's website. They denied her entry to the gym, even though she had a pass, presented her ID as requested, and was considering getting a membership at the gym. They wouldn't even let me use the gym when I have a membership and pay each and every month for it. I have never had issues, so hopefully it's just those two awful girls that are treating people this way. Kayla and Karina were very defensive and abrasive, while me and my guest were being calm and just trying to understand why we were being presented with such a hassle. I like everything but one thing....There is too much of spraying used to wipe down the machines; by member's and staff. It is so overpowering. I really like going to the movie theater and women's r...oom...but they are enclosed and I breathe in too much of the cleaner. Not good for asthmatics. Try using, wipes instead. See More

I’ve been with Onelife since early 2015. I’ve never had a bad experience and the staff is amazing. It’s easy to see that the staff genuinely cares about the facility as well as its members. I would re...commend Onelife to anyone in the area looking for a legit gym. See More

I love this gym and look forward to my classes, but I heard something a few weeks ago that really upset me. Someone in management said the water aerobics was for old retired people. I think this was... very unprofessional. It is a great workout for all ages. I have done it for years. See More

Unfortunately the cardio machines didn't work half the time. The interface to change the intensity levels and other settings on the equipment would not sense that the user was trying to make a change.... It was very frustrating as you're trying to work out. For the prices that One Life charges for a membership, I would have expected better working equipment. I let my membership expire and will be looking for a better place to exercise. See More

I LOVE my gym! I have visited the other locations and unfortunately, they do not compare to Chesapeake Square. NOT even close.

I'd give 5 stars if the staff were consistent in freezing my acct when I... leave for military stuff. I'm gone for months at a time out of the year, and I'm still charged although I've called or went into the gym in person to freeze my acct. I think that needs to be handled in a better way because it occurs more than it should.

Secondly, the gym has a wonderful fitness program called Zone 4 I recently became aware of. I tried it out for free twice, loved it, went to sign up with an advisor, and nearly passed out. Why? The cost is a whopping $99 per month!!! No... it does NOT include the monthly $29.99 membership fee! My gosh that's alot of money each year, and I cannot be certain that I'll utilize the program regularly...let alone be in this state due to my military status. Thus, it becomes a very fast way of wasting my money. I'd love to sign up, but paying $130 a month just to include Z4 is ludicrous...but $99 would be valuable and worth every cent!

I can work out, tan, and swim all in an hour and a half plus use a sauna and excellent shower dressing room facility before going elsewhere.

It's not often someone comes into your adult life with such a positive force. At 50+ I walked into One Life Fitness and thought, o.k. I'll walk on the treadmill. As my body started to move again I bra...nched out to other activities and then "Boom" in walks James Thaxton. Here is this young man with more energy then a kid @ Chucky Cheese. I walked into his Insanity Class, hide in the back hoping to just make it through. He was engaging, motivating and encouraging, no matter what fitness level. Being consistent, slowly but surely my squats got lower, my jumps got higher and abs got stronger. I can't thank him enough for getting athletic Debbie back. Thank you James for making a difference in my life. See More

I love the atmosphere here. Couple reasons I didn't give 5 stars. The biggest one is that since joining this gym my baby and I have been constantly sick. I'm a stay at home mom, so I don't go much of ...anywhere except the gym and that's when we both started getting sick. The staff is great with her and she loves going to the kids club. There have been a few times where the kids club has been packed with babies and toddlers and only like 2 staff members in there. It's not often that I see that happen, but it does make me nervous.
I wish there were more squat racks. Overall I do like going here, but would not recommend the kids club to young babies or immune compromised kids/babies.

After a health issue set me waaay back last year and I finally got to start again the first of this year. I came in One life VERY hesitant and nervous. Not only was I finally back in the gym but I wa...s now at a new one. I shared a little of what my goals were and I was IMMEDIATELY paired with James Thaxton as my personal trainer. To say I was intimidated is an understatement but I decided to give it an honest try. He has been amazing. Supportive and encouraging. Telling me my goals were realistic and not out of reach. And with time my goals have turned a little toward a bucket list item I have always had and wanted, but really never thought i could or knew how to. Good enough to get the job done, it could be worse. The gym is poorly lit. Not enough space in the weight area and lacking at least one more squat rack that is not a smith-machine. Energy vibe is ...extremely low, nothing about this place makes me excited to be there. The locker room is excellent, with large lockers and plenty of space to move around. However, the locker room could be a lot cleaner. Friendly staff and good customer service. I hope this location improves. See More

I love how I can bring my kids and how their is so much that I can do, the only thing that I wish that it had or could improve with is that their isn't a scale in the locker rooms which I need only be...cause I like a more accurate reading if you know what I mean lol and some of the equipment could use some updating but overall I am impressed. I haven't tried the classes yet but I'm on my way so I'm excited � See More

I love the OneLife at Chesapeake Square. The front desk staff are always nice and welcoming. The facility is clean. I work with a personal trainer, Allyson, weekly. She is personable and is always... available when I have a question in regards to my training plan for the week. She encourages me daily to stay on track. I would highly recommend Allyson if you are looking for a change in your routine. See More

My favorite Onelife in the area, particularly the aquatic center. The equipment is kept up or repaired in timely manner. Been going there since 2007/2008.

FEBRUARY INSTRUCTOR(S) OF THE MONTH!

By day, Ron Morrison is the Director of Training & Workforce Development at Metropolitan Solutions and Karen Morrison is a Contract Specialist for the United States government. You will find them doing most activities together, from grocery shopping, attending jazz concerts to working out at the gym.

Ron and Karen were licensed to teach MixxedFit, a dance fitness program, in September of 2015, which was shortly after they joined One Life... Fitness Chesapeake Square. They decided to co-teach as an example of harmony and companionship as two persons pushing toward maintaining a healthy life style.

You will find them every Tuesday and Saturday teaching their MixxedFit class full of energy & excitement as they lead their students in Fitness, Inspiration, Motivation & Encouragement. #FIMEtime
