Andrew and the whole crew at Ontra Stone were great! We had them cut a large piece of Carrara for our kitchen island. It came out beautifully and I spent time in their facility to see the profession...alism first hand See More

Buddy and his crew did a MAGNIFICENT job! Thank you!
Complete! In mid-August, we posted photos of this island in fabrication. Here are some of the final results, including images of the fully mitered marble range hood and full-height splashes. The honed Calacatta Gold marble adorns every bit of this kitchen, from the vein-matched and mitered waterfall island, hood and wall splashes, into the butler's pantry (photos to come), and the rest of the home. Along with the Calacatta kitchen, the homeowner selected both Thassos and Italian Carrara marble for the vanities throughout the home as well as utilizing more modern elements like quartz and glass for surfaces. This new construction in New Canaan is truly a wonder to behold at every turn. Enjoy.
Our sawyer Jose showing his skill by cutting a round marble table top with our Italian-made GMM bridge saw. Nice way to renew your kitchen table; change the top into marble or granite.

Buddy spent this week at his alma mater, Berkshire School in Sheffield, Mass, participating in ProVita, a curriculum program that offers the students to learn hands-on life experience in 50 different areas of interest.
The program that Buddy led in conjunction with Rock Solid Marble & Granite involved creating a new granite snack bar area in their cafeteria.
The students were guided through the entire process of laser and wood templating, the geology of the slab, saw operation to cut the slab to size, and even got to fabricate their own snack bar!
Some great photos here.
This is emotional for us to be able to see the excitement in these kids faces as they learn to do what we love to do. Pretty special.

I have the honor of sharing my professional experience training possible new members of the natural stone industry.
