OT Challenge Hike is coming up and there is still time to register for this major fund raiser supporting the OTA. This year it is on Cinco De Mayo weekend...............free camping and food for part...icipants. Family and other supporters can attend for a small fee to cover expenses. A great family weekend. Bon Fire and live music. Authentic mexican chef preparing one of the meals...........very good stuff. Go to the OT Challenge Hike page on the OTA website for registration form. See More

Great people, great organization, great mission, great fellowship. You will make make trail, you will make memories, you will make friends that you will cherish for the rest of your life. This isn't... just some charity, time invested in the OTA is truly time invested in relationships you will honestly wonder how you ever lived without. It gets in your blood and becomes the family you choose. See More

I think it's beautiful as ever and great for hiking long or short trips. The options to enjoy are always appealing, swimming or canoodling or overnight camping. The list is long for enjoyment or educational.

The best people to build trail with in Missouri! Even if you don't build, but love to hike -- a great organization to support. Every trail-enthusiast should become a member!

Today the OTA lost one of their best partners, Stephan Bass. Without Stephan's support the past several years in providing the opportunity for the OTA to hold many events out of Bass River Resort, some projects just wouldn't have gotten completed as they did. The Courtois section as well as the Berryman section of the OT saw significant reroutes that would not have been able to be completed without Stephan, Julie and the whole BRR staff. Stephan's smiling face and his giant bear hugs will be sorely missed by so many of the OTA family. Thank you Kim McMillen for letting us share the best of times with Stephan through your photos. Till we meet again......

Kim McMillen added 12 new photos — with Trent Bass and 19 others.

Today we lost a wonderful man. He was a friend; father; husband; boss; brother; son; brother in law; son in law and business man. Stephan Bass you were loved by... so many. Big hugs to all of the Bass and Cottrell family; prayers for comfort and healing in the coming days ahead.

We have lost one of the greatest and dearest friends that anyone could have asked for. Our hearts are heavy and saddened by the news of his passing. Even though you think you are prepared for that day; that phone call or message; you never are prepared. We are all thankful for the time we had with Stephan; all the wonderful memories we have made over the years and that he is no longer in pain.

No matter how bad his days was he always had a smile on his face; keeping us laughing and he was always hard at work.

Yes it will take time for everyone to heal from his passing; but until we meet again my friend we continue your legacy you left behind and keep Fighting for a Cure and Help Spread Colon Cancer Awareness.

HELP WANTED!
We are always looking for volunteers for many of our organization positions. I'd like to highlight a couple that we need the most right now.

Secretary - This is an officer level position and is critical to the operation of the OTA - Currently held by Jeff Goetter. Jeff has held this position for the last several years and has indicated that this is his last year. He will be stepping down in January but would like to start transitioning this immediately and tra...in his replacement. If you think you might be interested or willing please contact Jeff at jeff.goetter@ozarktrail.com.

Development Chair - This is a very important position that is currently vacant. The Development Committee is responsible for Grant Management, Donations, Sponsorships, and Branded Merchandise. The Chair is a member of the Executive Committee and is responsible for calling and running meetings, oversight of the coordinators, but mostly keeping the committee functioning and recruiting volunteers as needed. If you think you might be interested or willing please contact us at development@ozarktrail.com.

Our NCCC along with crew leaders Kathie Brennan and Katie Rhode have had an awesome start to the week constructing new trail down at Round Spring along the Current River. In just two days they have put in about 1100 ft. of new trail. Thursday they will be in Crew Leader training with 5 OTA volunteers. There are opportunities to come build during the week by PMing Kathie Brennan. #OzarkTrail #letusgetthisdone

Kathie Brennan added 9 new photosfeeling fantastic with Katie Rhode at Ozark National Scenic Riverways - Round Spring and Cave.

Great start to the week with the NCCC crew. Started construction yesterday and for 6 young adults who have never hefted a trail tool, they are doing AWESOME! ...Yesterday we got 840 ft. built with 560 ft. today, a little less because of the doing more back slopes due to grade. If it rains, we’ll go back to clearing trail corridor heading east. On the way back to CRSP, saw 2 of the white wild horses in the Sinking Creek campground. Thursday and Friday is OTA Trail Crew leader training with the crew as well as 5 OTA volunteers. Just know, the lights are on if anyone wants to come build trail with the great crew of young adults! #OzarkTrail #makingithappen #gettingitdone #pushingforcompletion#
