Went to Ps 360 from kindergarten to 5th grade, then moved to jersey. I was young, but it was still some of the best experiences of my life.

Volunteering. Good for you. Good for your city. Use your time, passion, skills and willingness to help to address New York City's most pressing needs.
Now that are children are older, and being taught reading in school by professionals, what can we do to stay engaged with them as readers? Here are tips.

I visited the Jerome Park branch of the New York Public Library and saw a robot built with the Little Bits program. It looked like an interesting, fun and educational activity. Little Bitts is available every Wednesday at 4:00 pm at the Jerome Park Library.

Want to build a mini-pinball machine? Or electronic toothbrush? How about a remote control car? The inventive Little Bits set will allow you to create a multitude of amazing machines. (Ages 8-12). Limited to 8 participants. Talk to Miss Counts about registration.

I am playing Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the New York Repertory Orchestra. This is an orchestra of enthusiastic amateurs. (Your librarian plays French Horn in her free time) We perform at the church of St. Mary the Virgin on West 46 street between 6th and 7th avenues.

Do you have an idea that would make our neighborhood better? This is a link to the Citizen's Committee Neighborhood Grants. I would love to help you complete a grant application so you might get funding for your idea!

Through our Neighborhood Grants, Citizens Committee awards micro-grants of up to $3,000 to resident-led groups to work on community and school projects throughout the city. We prioritize groups based in low income neighborhoods and Title I public schools.

Every family's Thanksgiving celebration is a reflection of their history and values. This piece from the New York Times shows so clearly that there is not one right way to celebrate your family. Happy Thanksgiving!…/thanksgiving-dinner-in-america.htm…

The Times asked 15 American families to talk about the dishes on their Thanksgiving tables that speak best to their heritage and traditions, and to who we are. These are their stories.

What a wonderful surprise to find this colorful reader while walking downtown on Sunday. Fancy Animal Carnival by Hung Yi includes this Dragon Horse at Broadway and 40 street.
