One of the nice things about owning a B&B is there is plenty of room for family. We closed Thanksgiving week and hosted our annual Thanksgiving dinner. December has been fun and busy with holiday parties.
As A side note,

Pinehill Inn is listed as an unforgettable stay!! Come find out for yourself.
It’s been a great year for our B&B College course, the only one of its kind in the Midwest. Our students attend class and get to see a successful B&B from behind the scenes. Our B&B is the campus. Our graduates are running their own B&Bs in Iowa, Michigan, Colorado and New England. Our next class is February 19th & 20th, 2016 or we can do one on one consulting anytime.
Why do people attend? It is for anyone thinking of buying, running or building a B&B now or in the future. It's a big investment of time, money and energy, something that needs to be done right. We have even had existing B&B owners who needed help to revitalize their business. Visit http://www.pinehillbb.com/b-b-college/b-b-college.htm for more information.
Fireplace added to the carriage house for events and weddings. It is made out of 141 year old barn wood for that historic look. Designed by Chris it is for our new Scottish highlands circa 1700s themed weddings.
Chris is an avid follower of the Starz TV series Outlander. Because of this we have decided to do a traditional Scottish highlands banquet. For any of you coming to the Oregon, IL Autumn on Parade festival or the Renaissance Fair there is a traditional highlands banquet planned on Friday night 10/2 at the Pinehill Inn. Using our 141 year old barn/carriage house we are hosting an Outlander series inspired traditional Scottish highlands banquet including a formal piping in the haggis. Renaissance attire is welcome but not required.

Last minute weddings seem to be the usual not the exception this summer. We have many dates available. We can do any size wedding but if an inside reception is also needed we are limited to 100 to 130. Still, the 2 acre landscaped grounds provides the perfect setting and the carriage house can be used if the weather is bad.
Chris loves her English tea parties. We booked 3 in the last two weeks from 8 to 20 people. It is quite an experience held in a Victorian setting and everyone had a good time sampling the special treats and touring the Inn. The menu included English raisin almond scones with Devonshire cream and lemon curd, lemon poppy seed muffins, four types of finger sandwiches, chocolate dipped strawberries and to top it off strawberry English trifle with shaved dark chocolate. Of course there was a full selection of fine teas and coffees.
