Found tied to a tree in upper Manhattan, wagging his tail furiously at passersby…..Tony the Tiger..."he's GGRREAT!"
He’s stunning, gorgeous, and barely 12 months old. Tony was found tied to a tree when a kind person came by with their dog, untied him and off they went, a happy trio. He was absolutely wonderful with that person, a wiggley tail wagging doll on intake, and he has been a Doggy Playgroup Star at the shelter. There is no one that Tony does NOT like. He’s super social, friendly and simply adorable. Yes, he’s a baby, and he needs training so he realizes a leash is not a pull toy, but with a quiet structured home with the training all puppies require to teach them how to direct their energy, he’d be even more perfect than he already is, but don’t take our word for it, see what his favorite volunteer had to say, “Who strolls the concrete jungle with just the right amount of swag and thinks making new friends is the greatest thing since chew bones were invented? Tony the tiger, that’s who! Wearing the most beautiful coat I’ve ever seen and a solemn face to hide his mischievous spirit, this super friendly boy looks like a million bucks and acts like a big ol’ clown and plenty of heads turn to admire him as we strut through the park. We stop for a photo shoot and he accepts treats like a full grown gentleman, but with so much energy to burn, he sometimes forgets that leashes aren’t toys and people aren’t meant for climbing! Tony is young and he’s still got a few rough edges to polish, but he’s smart and ready to learn, and if his current house training skills and ‘sit’ are anything to go by, this happy-go lucky guy will be mastering additional tricks in no time flat. Like any tiger, he loves to explore, but his true calling lies in snuggling, socializing with both two and four-legged friends and finding innovative ways to make everyday life as fun as possible. Tony’s already got the title of World’s Handsomest Pet under his belt and now he’s looking to conquer new challenges with an active, dog savvy family by his side. Potential is his middle name and with your help, Tony P. Tiger is going to be a star!” Don’t let the ACC take this perfect puppy’s life on Saturday. Step up for Tony now, and be his hero for all his days to come.
