The carne adovada lived up to its expectations and the posole and calabacitas were excellent as well. My stuffed sopapilla with Christmas was one of the best I've ever had and the sopapillas on the were great as well. The wait staff was friendly and attentive as well as conservational as well when I engaged them about where they were from and the history behind the restaurant. The prickly pear margaritas were charming. Sure there were a few flies but I would go back again in a heartbeat. Loved my visit ! See More

1. Myself and other people in our party could smell the septic.
2. We told the staff it was cold and they told us it was how it is.
3. $20.50 for the fajita plate they serve is just ridiculous.

The 1st time I had ever gone out to Rancho De Chimiyo was in the mid 60's. It was one of my Grandma Brenisers favorite place to eat. Took her out there many times & have enjoyed the food & Mrs. Jarami...llo's presence sonce then. Absolutely wonderful food. See More

I quite enjoyed the green chile rellenos. The ambience is lovely albeit mostly tourists not from NM. We were seated in the atrium...beautiful, light, and made friends with a honey loving hornet. Ok.......two complaints: they serve honey in a cup covered with plastic just ripe to attract flying insects...and difficult to pour honey on your sopaipilla. Secondly, the rice was underwhelmingly bland. However, the calabacitas and red chile were quite delicious. The servers we're quite friendly and prompt. Overall, worth a try. See More

Not like it use to be. The quality of the food has gone way down. Food was tasteless, some of looked and tasted like it came from a can, smaller portions, horrible refríed beans, tamale was dry, enchi...lada sauce was awful. Do not recommend. See More

An awesome experience. I lived in NM for 20 years and never made it here. The red sauce and green chile sauce was some of the best I've had.

While our food and server were both very good. Our experience was not a good one. When we walked in the hostesses asked what we were doing there. Then sat us up in the patio. It's July, it was just af...ter 5 and it was HOT. Later they sat a table near us and brought them out standing fans and extra umbrellas. As we were leaving we thanked the hostesses on the way out only to be ignored. Sadly, the next time we decide to go out it will not be at The Rancho de Chimayo. We will go to El Parasol for the same quality food and service at a fraction of the price.
I myself work in the food service/hospitality field this was unacceptable.

The hostesses here have some of the worst attitudes ever. Majority of them were not friendly whatsoever and very unprofessional. If there was an option for half a star, that's the rating I would give.... (: An attitude check is very much needed here. See More

I loved the atmosphere, the restaurant and the food, but I would not sit outside again. The flies were very, very annoying.

We have been going to Rancho de Chimayo since the early 80's. Probably dined there 150 times, lost count. Not only have we never had a bad experience we have never even had a mediocre experience. The is some of the best traditional Northern New Mexico food you can find and the service is almost unbelievably consistent always friendly and professional. I don't know how they find such great wait staff since most other restaurants don't seem to be able to. Great ambiance in the ancestral Jaramillo family home and the outdoor patio in the summer is incredible. And for all you get the prices are so reasonable. This may sound like an ad but it ain't so don't miss it, try a margarita! See More

Place is Awesome. The food is the best I've had in many many years. While on a road trip I made plans to stop in here to try some southwestern food. And I'm glad we did.My wife is Vietnamese and a picky... eater. She got a combination plate with a beef taco and she ate everything on the plate.I like that the price is kept low and they don't give you to much food so you walk out felling so full.Just enough food to fill you and you walk away so happy. We came all the way from San Jose ca area just to try the food. And were still talking to are selfs or to anybody who will listen. Thanks so much Mrs J for an outstanding restaurant and delis food. FYI....if you bring your own cake...they charge you $1 per meal extra and if you ask a waiter that is not your waiter for are charged two gratuities. One group in our party payed $32 gratuities for two meals....and we just paid an additional $30+ for a cake that was already payed for at the store. Sound like Rip off to you?

As a local that knows New Mexican food and believes in supporting local businesses...I will not be returning again. My mom makes better food for this price and you can get just as good of food at the Sopapilla Factory in Pojoaque for a much better price and service.

I am so disgusted.
