Today is the very awful anniversary of the US military detonating the first airborne hydrogen bomb over Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands back in 1956. I don’t often write songs about one specific topic, but after spending a brief period... living in the Marshalls, I felt compelled to do so. That song ended up being one of the first Ravenna Woods songs ever, and has since been heard/seen by a Senate Committee determining whether the Marshallese should receive continued compensation for the horrendous effects of the atomic testing (thanks to the amazing Professor Holly Barker).
