Obama just named the first female agent to run the Secret Service. On March 30, 1981, a female agent was in charge of the president's motorcade (Mary Ann Gordon), and Jerry Parr has always credited her efforts that day with helping ensure Ronald Reagan made it quickly to the hospital after he was shot. Gordon was also the first female agent to ever drive a president (Carter) in the presidential limo, codenamed Stagecoach. Pierson is a veteran agent and agency’s chief of staff.
